Grado sound, but with better soundstage and sub-bass

Ultrasone Pro.  To me, the Ultrasones are everything the Grado (SR--with the possible exception of the 325i) aspire to be.  You still get that Grado-ish forward/aggressive sound, but with lots of real bass.

I haven't done a direct AB comparison between my Pro 650 and my SR60 yet, but I'm pretty sure the SR60's mids are far more forward than the Pro 650. The Pro 650's highs were also really harsh when I first heard them, but I haven't done a comparison post-500h burn-in.

I found the Pro 900 to be nowhere near as forward as a Grado, and in addition there is a very, very different quality to the tone of the sound. Ultrasone Pros tend to sound extremely metallic and really sound nothing like a Grado. In fact, I'd say the Grado that sounds closest to them is the 325....
