What is this?
If you read the description, theyre advertised to be Tung Sol 6as7g, even though the tubes and boxes clearly says "5998".
Looks to me to be an individual out to take advantage of buyers who don't know how to spot a real 5998.

Real 5998s have domino plates, which are easy to spot, with the six dimples, as seen below.

That's only the advertising on the tube. I judge them by their inner construction. It's a Tungsol 6as7g. Very nice sounding tube but overpriced.

I actually just bought a quad of Soviet 6N5S/6N13S/6AS7G from the seller. They accepted my offer of $100 and the tubes sound great. I know of other people on this site who have had issues with the sellers from India but I've made 4 or 5 purchases from them without any problems. They are often expensive, but bargains do exist and the tubes are high quality in my experience.

I'd say most important thing to note is the tubes sold are low testing based on these results in the adds. For me they would be garbage bin material.
Here's the Tung Sol datasheet for these tubes: https://frank.pocnet.net/sheets/127/6/6AS7G.pdf
Note that tested at 135V with a 250 ohm cathode resistor the low level of normal is 100mA with 5800 uhmos.
With the gerenally accepted NOS value of 7000 uhmos.
These are much below 50% of that (not to mention the questionable anode currents!).

This is partially the result of a seller using a fixed bias test method to sell these (with current measurements as low as 28mA for one section and 90 for another?!).
The Amplitrex used in fixed bias normally would use 135V anode volts, -50V grid with a result of 100mA +- 7000 uhmos for NOS tubes.
See curves on datasheet a healthy tube should have a healthy transconductance.

EDIT!: With the later replies (while I was writing maybe) I didn't know the tubes said 5998.
For a 5998 this would be NOS test results: https://frank.pocnet.net/sheets/127/5/5998.pdf
As they should be 14000 uhmos. That would give them only a measured 20-30% of NOS on some sections. That's extremely low.

Can you give me a link where they are cheaper?
There are two pairs of Western Electric 421a from different sellers currently on eBay for less $ than those 5998s. Typically WE 421a are more money than the 5998s. Whether they ship to Israel or not I have no idea.

I have no affiliation with either seller.

In all links they are much more expensive than 5998 or used.
Used yes, only the 3rd link is more $ on my end. The eBay ones are cheaper for me.
If you want only NOS then obviously hold out for NOS. With a little patience you should be able to find better prices on the 5998s.
Use Hifishark and save a search for 5998 and 421a. You will get an email everytime those tubes come up for sale, but you need to save the search.

Dang you! Bought the cheaper of the ebay ones because I have no self-control & interested to see how they are compared to my Tung Sol 5998. Some things I've read said they're the same but others point to specific differences in build. As long as they're more quiet than my Tung Sols I'll be happy!

The ones in Classifieds are early ones. You can identify by the rectangular mica supports.
