Oh one listen at you-know-what that I mentioned in a different thread, you will know what you want. It won't be even close with the next competitor.
The Diana Phi? Hmm, I'll know Saturday :)

Youre not only 1.
Since I had to forcefully sell my Utopia for dirt cheap I don't know what to indulge in. There are so many awesome options right now and the list will grow by a few this weekend.

I feel you. Maybe try to get clear if you like Utopia and + Empyerean? Personally I think Utopia have a fantastic tonal balance, but many music cant do it justice. Maybe aim Utopia again + Lcd 2 for more forgiving sound? Personally i would aim for most balanced sound headphones next. Even thou I love My HD800S soundstage, but it never provides mids that Utopia have and because of that mid dip highs always sound accentuated. Sure its easy to make soundstage big by making mids distant, but its much harder to make good mids on a headphones while having great soundstage. If you loved How Utopia sound why go elswhere?

I have the Clear at home for a loan to do a review on the Questyle CMA-twelve that should be arriving at my home on Wednesday.

Oh, and I sold them not because I didn't want them but because I had too.

the utopia's tonal balance seems susceptible to being altered by an amplifier's output impedance. doug savitsky of ecp audio explains the effect of pairing the utopia with a headphone amp that has a high output impedance thus:
"The headphones [Utopia] have an impedance of 80 Ohms at 1KHz, but 300 Ohms at 50Hz. That means there is a voltage divider with the headphone Z and amp Z. So, if there is a 1V signal, at 1K about 38% (50/(50+80)) of that signal is lost to the amp's impedance, and the other 62% goes to the phones. So you are left with a 0.62V. At 50Hz, the amp is still 50 Ohms but the phones are 300 Ohms. That means they get 86% of the signal. That's nearly a 3dB boost at 50Hz. Hence too much bass."
that said, if the utopia sounds "very nice" to you paired with the wa5-le then ignore the above. :relaxed:

I like a little extra bass. Probably why I have so many Audeze headphones. Maybe that's why I prefer the Utopia's on the Woo as apposed to my solid state amps.

Nice, so a closed version of the Utopia in ugly colors basically.

And is that a DAC/AMP with a built in headphone stand?
