Well... How to install windows DAC drivers for X7 without that cable? I was trying do it via K5 and usb standard cable A/B, but it's failed...

Where to buy this 11 pin cable?

Slot the X7 onto the K5 dock and you only need a standard USB A/B cable (plugged into the big sqaurish port on the K5, not the micro USB port). As twister pointed out before me, it may be the driver signature enforcement problem of Win8/10 and Brooko's guide will help a lot: http://www.head-fi.org/t/713735/fiio-x7-dxd-dsd-384k-64b-ess9018-android-amp-module-design-call-for-3rd-party-amp-module-developers/8925#post_12306469

i thought that was a micro usb port?

It's a 11-pin USB-compatible port that happens to look physically like micro USB. You should only plug a compatible FiiO player to it, via the optional 11-pin USB cable (I was going to call it USB-F  ). Of particular note, do NOT plug this micro port into the computer, it would fry the K5 if you also have a FiiO device docked.

Anyone have all 4 FiiO players here? (X1 ,X3ii ,X5ii ,X7)

If so can you do a brief comparison between the three?
THX in advance !!!

I think it's safe to say everyone has lost count.

Im pretty sure Brooko has all four, and I'm pretty sure the consensus is each one slots in to their respective price range regarding sound quality. Which is to say, in each price category the FiiO DAPs play very competitively in the market, especially the X7. If you check out the reviews of the X7 you'll find some comparisons with a couple of the other FiiO DAPs.

I also found the X7 to beat the X5ii but haven't heard the X1 or the X3ii so I can't comment on those. My X7 review is in my signature.

I have all 4 - but you'd really need to be specific about what you want to know.

Question on AM1 vs AM2, I just decided to take my IEM's up a level and have bought some Sure SE846's to replace my IE80's, I would guess that the IEM module would be the best fit for these but from what we know of the AM2 so far would I get a significant improvement by swapping to that module?

Cheers!

I said it before - calling AM1 the 'IEM' module is kind of a (marketing) mistake as it makes people assume it must be the best choice for IEM. It really should have been called either the standard or low power module. That being said, the mid power module is quite an improvement over the IEM module as far as overall SQ goes, and it will drive any IEM just as well, if not better.

How does the AM2 perform with ultra sensitive iems? Lets say the Shure SE846.

Talking purely in terms of SQ.
How does the X3ii sound relative to the X1 in terms of :
Micro-Detail retrieval , Soundstage , Layering ,Separation ,Tonality ............ Things like that.

And from there how does the fiio X7 compare with the X3ii. Asking you to compare the X3ii with the X5ii would be redundant as you already said the X5ii is only a hair better overall.

And how close would i get in terms if SQ if i get a E12A amp to stack with my X1?

And i forgot to mention, I just went to Jaben today and i tried out the DX90.

The wide soundstage of the DX90 made the X1 sound FLAT. The DX90 also had a sub-bass rumble ive never heard on the X1. Instrument Separation and Layering was also much better.
Detail was pretty much the same except for the top end which had more sparkle ,air and the high hats were lovely (goodbye harsh sound).

Don't have SE845 to test, but as far as SE530 goes, I hear no difference on both hiss and noise between AM1 and AM2. That is, I didn't actually hear any.

I am trying to set up DLNA with my X7. I went through all the media set up instructions on the manual. My X7 recognizes all of the titles of my albums but when I click on an album, title, artist etal., it doesn't show any of the songs for me to play. Do you know what I could be doing wrong or what I have to do. Thanks. My OS is Windows 10 on my computer.
