1. Have you turn on the resume mode but the issue stays? Where are you play the song from?
2. You can hear the 'click' you mentioned when switch from same sampling rate or different?
3. As for the shuffle you mentioned, we will report to our engineers and have a look about it.

1) Yes resume mode is on, the issue is from Fiio music app only. Poweramp I have a purchased version and suddenly said that you need to verify the purchase so i moved on to Fiio App. Fiio App at MOST (not all) of the times would pick up my 1 particular Led Zep song from entire two micro SDs and worst part is when that happens, it plays just tht song. The forward and back buttons do not work and its like you have shut down the app, clear from background activities and then restart the app again.

2) different sampling rate, all are flac24, some flac 16, and variable sampling

3) This shuffle really bothers me, i know the songs it will pick, so seems like an algorithm built in to only jump certain steps thus same sequence of songs keep coming in.

4) Now my latest mystery. I have 2 micro SD cards - both 128 gb and both almost full. So i try various music apps i downloaded 4-5 of them. All are showing me a different number of tracks in my library of "All songs". The variation is not small.
Onkyo Player shows 2845 Songs
Poweramp - 3672 songs
Neutron Player - 4001 Songs
Fiio App - 3736 Songs
Aimp- 3593 Songs

Variation is from 2845 to 4001 thats a huge difference. And all players support most of the music formats too.

1. We will also report to our engineers about the resume mode and try to fix the issue with it.
2. One of the core performance of the HIFI music player is the support to music of different streams and formats . However, the DAC chip need to be reset when switching to different sampling rates, which lead to a slight crackle at the same time. This problem has always been there. The only way we can solve this is to convert the songs to a standard format and sampling rate in the computer before copying the songs to the player , like the itunes does. In this way, the biggest advantage of HIFI music player will be lost.
Of course, we will go on improving this issue in latter issue.
3. Do you know which songs are not being scanned successfully? Seems strange.

1) Thanks on that. I love the Fiio App but the crashes and sticking only to one song kills a bit of the mood.
2) Click is not much of a bother makes one feel and remember the audio click from beta tapes so i am ok with it actually, just wanted to point out in case i was doing something wrong.
3) with a large library it's an issue to figure which songs are missing, to be honest. I think a starting point might be to understand if there is any format that Neutron player supports and others do not. Neutron displayed the maximum number of songs.
4) I know many asked but could a wallpaper carousel be incorporated. It could randomly keep picking images from "covers" that get featured in the gallery anyways. this just adds a bit of extra spunk.
5) Waiting for the stacking kit also, do update us on that. A5 with the band on a touch based player just is not the ideal way to move around.
6) When you open the Fiio App - one reaches on Personalised Display. We have 3 options there (can be changed in settings). However, the options of Local like "Songs" or "Bands" at least should get added there. One need not go to "Local" to start listening in that situation. it makes the movement more fluid.
7) I just resetted the database and rescanned my files. Fiio App this times shows 3681 songs , it dropped the count . I was observing it and it moves scanning in clockwise position, it goes from 12 of the clock to 9 of the clock smoothly. At 9 it showed 3680 and just suddenly said 3681 songs found. I would try rescan card by card manually and let you know.

Rest not just supporting my own purchase, but i do love the device. To enjoy the songs you love is one thing, but to re-love the artists like Gun'n'Roses or Motley Crue or Offspring, that had fallen down my choice of music is something that really is a great feeling.

At second - tried to play HR files in wav format. FiiO player not playing. Installed Foobar goes well. Conclusion - wav format not yet supported by native player, right?

Does the X5 III plays DSD files natively? Or downsample to 88.2k PCM before hitting the DAC?

BUG: In Album View, multiple albums with the same name show once. Drilling in, the same name albums are mashed together.

If this has been stated before, or is the normal behaviour of a FiiO DAP then someone please let me know.

A good example of this problem is the generic album title "Greatest Hits".

@FiiO : I know you could go via the Artist View, but it would be nice to get this fixed.

I don't think it's a bug, I would suggest retagging your albums ,you can add artist name 'Greatest Hits - Artist Name" so that the albums won't be mixed

That doesn't solve the problem. I have sent some pics illustrating the issue.
An Album 'Love' from Beatles and ZüriWest are mixed together, although they are tagged correctly.
It's something, FiiO has to fix.

Yes I thought that would be a work around too and have done that for now for a few albums, but a work around it is and it's the only player library I own that behaves this way.

Might be nice for FiiO to take a quick peek at the artist before assuming all of the tracks are from the same album..?

You also have to look for 'album artist' and hope it's tagged right otherwise all the "Rock Athems" etc collections will be turned into a dozen different albums for each track.

Sent the fiio back to amp3. Probably be put up as a box opened next week sometime I imagine. Sounded good, but didn't like the 9-10 hour battery life.
