just an update that i get around the connection problem of fiio connect app by installing it on my m15 and managed to check my firmware ver and changed the control profile there. i didn't see any notification (or option to change it) of the connection protocol though (e.g. aptx, sbc, etc.)

Dear friend,

You could check the Bluetooth codec from the Bluetooth page of your mobile phone instead:

Dear friend,

You are using FiiO Control app Android version or iOS version?
For iOS version, please try to clear the pairing for UTWS3 then reconnect again for check.
If you are using Android 13 mobile phone but having this problem, please try the FiiO Control app 2.5 version to check again. Download link: https://forum.fiio.com/note/showNoteContent.do?id=202105071628040377809&tid=17

Best regards
It is the Android 13 version. I tried different things, including a new phone/tablet, but the issuers persist. In the meantime I sold most of my FiiO hardware, the only one I kept is the FiiO BTA30 Pro which seems to be working fine. I wish I could turn it OFF from the FiiO Control App. Leaving it always ON is not good, I don't want phone calls to answer on a Stand-by sound system.

Dear friend,

Do you have other mobile phone in older Android version for try?
After checking, we found that the BLE security mechanism of Android 13 has been improved, so the compatibility with some Bluetooth devices(not only our UTWS3) is having issue in Android 13. We may need to wait for the update in Android 13 for fixing the BLE connection issue.

Best regards

My case stop showing the led lights. The case has no breathing light when i plug in the charger but is still pulling current when i check with my usb ammeter.
No lights turn on when i place the ear hooks back in its case.

Ear hooks turn on and connects with phone when i take out from case. Disconnect when i place it back.

Find it weird that led suddenly stops working.
Anyone encounter similar issue? How do i rectify it?

Seems the battery in my right side UTSW3 is broken. It probably got a deep discharge. Any chance to get a replacement?
Dear friend,

If you bought the UTWS3 from the authorized seller in Germany, you could try to contact the distributor in Germany for help:

I have an issue with the right connector. I use Shure SE215s paired to the UTWS3 and I found that in the past the MMCX connector breaks reallllly easily within the earbud. Happened a few times and then I have to either replace the connector itself or buy new earbuds.
When this happens you can tell it broke off on closer insepction and you also hear no sound when you use them wired in. The symptoms are the short button press to turn it on and longer (3s+) to turn it off no longer work.

Well now, another instance of this happened but surprisingly the MMCX of the earbud is not broken as they work perfectly fine when wired it. I took a closer look at the UTWS3 part of the connector and that one seems fine as well, but I still get the usual symptoms of no sound coming from that earbud and the short and long press no longer doing anything to turn off/on. So this time it's the UTWS3 itself rather than the earbuds. It also doesn't work if I try switching it to the left earbud either.

Anything I do to fix this or troubleshoot? Tried unpairing a few times and nothing. I assume it's probably a mechanical/hardware issue but not sure what as the MMCX connectors seem intact on both the earbuds and the UTWS3.

Has anyone else run into this issue where the MMCX connectors keep breaking a lot?

They are about 2 years old so not sure if there is any warranty (and they were also bought in a different country but I believe I have the receipt in my email somewhere), any chance at getting anything or a discount if I should buy a new set @FiiO?

Seriously. I just bought the TRN BT30 because the UTWS5 was just too expensive on Amazon due to it being out of production. I really like how the ear hooks are changeable into 2 pin, QDC and MMCX.

How do you find them sound quality wise? Any connectivity issues?

I can still find some UTWS3s and 5s at some stores around me for around retail price. However not sure if I should just get another one of these or find something else...

Sound quality seems fine to me, but I'm not the best at judging sound quality. The previous adapters I had (BT20XS) had really bad clipping when the bass hit and distorted at any volume which was very noticeable, but the BT30 don't do this. The only issue I have is it seems like the bass is reduced by a little bit compared to the same IEMs wired. No connectivity issues though.
