FiiO EM3 - Impression and Discussion

Klove4252, warmly welcome to post your review on Amazon , to be our first ten free users on Amazon!!

I need a bit more time with them before writing a review, but my initial impressions are positive. I've used a few different sources including Shozy Alien, AK100, and Paw Gold. I'll test it out today with Mojo and a Samsung S7 and iPhone 6s.

I've tried them with full foams, donut foams, and no foams, and I prefer the no foam sound.

EDIT: This is a very small sample size for comparison purposes, but I listened to the same song on repeat comparing the VE Monk to the EM3. The song was Those Days are Now by City of the Sun, and my source was the AK100 to Mojo. In almost every way the EM3 was better IMO. The bass was a bit more recessed on the EM3, but the instruments were clearer than the Monk. The EM3 was better when comparing the Mids in this song. This was only one song without vocals, so it is a very very small sample size. I believe the EM3 and Monk both really outperform their price points just based on my initial listening to the EM3. I have a few conference calls coming up, and I will be using the EM3 to speak and listen so I'm hoping the mic will work well too.

CUSTOM IN-EAR MONITORS!!!! (that are affordable for the average population). Instead of following the crowd and tuning it for low-highs, maybe tune it for mid-highs? Or even better, tune it for it to excel in every section of a ciem~~~

Fiio it's nice what you are doing but your contest only works for US Citizens. What about rest of us?

I haven't seen anything related to the contest (at least the one here at Head-Fi) saying that it's US only, I may be wrong, if so, my entry is also invalid.
I guess we should wait for the guys from Fiio to reply over this matter.

I'd like to see some nice over-ear headphones designed specifically to work with Fiio products like the X3ii or X7.

I wouldn't mind seeing FiiO's attempt at a clip on form factor ala Koss KSC75. IEM manufacturers are a dime a dozen, but besides Koss, Yuin with their G1A and Audio Technica, who else is making really good clip on headphones?

I would say its time to breathe some life in the clip on earphones market

Grado kind of, seeing that they're still making the eGrado. But it's a little bit of a different design.

And I have the eGrado and they are REALLY GOOD for the price, to my ears, but you're right, they're not exactly clip-ons, though they are of a related design, and in fact, I use them sometimes when I would otherwise prefer clip-ons.  (I have KSC 75, but they're broken right now, and also don't have the bass or overall SQ to my ear as the eGrado, though for $15 they are excellent.)

I'd love eGrado or a similar sound signature in a clip-on -- so if FiiO makes something like that, I WILL buy them.  Guaranteed.  FiiO, are you listening? :)

Because right now, I'm tempted to buy these  DUNU DN-C60II Clip-onhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/DUNU-DN-C60II-Clip-on-Style-Powerful-Bass-Hyper-Sound-Earphones-/380650114915?hash=item58a083cf63:g:VfsAAOxyHE5RpHW3
