Dear friend,

Hi, the BTR7 does not support the feature you mentioned. You could set the idle power off time via the FiiO Control app, but it will work when no device is connected.

Best regards
Hi,
It isn't a feature. It will last some time on connection and without pllaying back at any case. And I ask about this time.

If you want, let's name it as a pause state instead of an idle state.

Dear friend,

The BTR7 would not enter idle state when it is connected to device.

Best regards

I just ask how long does it last being connected but not playing?

Please, forget a word "idle" at all.
Sometimes what I am asking for is called "standby time".

Dear friend,

For about 146hs. But it may be shorter in different using condition.

Best regards

Hello, is there any recommended settings for the harmonic distortion compensation option?

As far as I understand, it could make the music sound have a more analogue quality.

The BTR7 felt a bit too bright and also a bit congested.

After several hours it's much better, and the spaciousness and clarity is awesome! A big improvement over the BTR5 (I didn't try the 2021 version).

Does anyone had a similar experience? To be honest I'm not entirely sure if it's hardware burn-in, or my ears getting used to the sound.

Whenever I try to play DSD via the USB DAC there is sometimes a really loud "pop" kind of noise for a milisecond before it starts. I will record it one of these days.

I tried playing DSD from a PC, as well as from the phone (via UAPP), it happens on both.

Maybe a bad day?

A couple of months ago, I hooked my 660S2 into the 4.4mm jack of the BTR7. I thought it was boring and lacking engagement. Moved to a bigger amplifier and it felt better.

A few weeks ago, I did the opposite. Started with the beefier amplifier, and then moved to the BTR7. No difference whatsoever.

In my case, it was just brain burn-in. 🤷‍♂️

As far as glitches go, I just use bread and butter streaming via BT, so only had a couple of crashes (unit resetting) out of the blue. Nothing I could reproduce though.

If the BTR7 is connected to both my computer and my phone, and then I go away from the computer and out of its range, the BTR7 restarts.

I hope FiiO will still give attention to this wonderful device and will release further updates.

Funny you should mention glitches…
@FiiO I’ve noticed in the last day that when I’ve got my BTR7 paired to two phones, multipoint style, that the notifications from the second phone cause the LDAC stream on the first phone to glitch out temporarily. I would have thought the expected behaviour was either that the LDAC stream would stop and the notification sound from the other phone would play, much like what happens when I receive a phone call, before sending be back to my regularly scheduled program, or that the LDAC stream would just keep playing with no interruptions at all.
I am on the current version of firmware too. Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide :)

Yes, it's a wonderful device. But a lot of things need to be fixed to reach its peak. Especially the fiio control app which has numerous software bugs. Perhaps I would venture that it will be impossible for them to fix it. These are glitches that take time to fix.

Multipoint and LDAC are not mutually friendly. Technics EAH-AZ80 manual for instance recommends to disable multipoint if optimizing for Audio Quality.
