i've got spare lt1028s (4, i think) they've been used, but work fine (they were socketed). if you want to try them, let me know. they sell for about $13 each for 8 pin dip singles.

i just ordered a bunch of LT samples including the 1028.

what i need are dual opamps.

on the list, what are all the different pdip versions? like CN and IN and sorts. i dunno which one so i just went with the first model # that said pdip 8.

some sound impressions would be nice on these different chips that are being suggested... as well as comparisons. i prefer lively sounding chips. i don't care about air and soundstage. just want a fast powerful sound with plenty of high end zing so that cymbals actually sound metallic and not whining plastic.

i'd like to try the ths but it doesnt come in a dip package and i cant solder for **** so i'm out of luck on that one.

1057, 827 and 8056 just came in

1057 sounds slow
827 is very nice sounding with good prat but the bass is pathetic
8056 is ok i guess, sounds kinda fake tho

still in the search...
