EX1 promotional offer for FiiO users--offer has ended. Thanks everyone for your participation!

Thanks Joe,

I have sent two e-mails to FiiO with no response. Which is quite unusual. They were great about replacing my X5 under warranty and selling me a. New screen after the warranty had expired. I have always found them much more responsive than this. I would be very interested to hear if any others are experiencing the same problem.

Mine have arrived in the UK and on first listen, it's a very balanced sound. The bass isn't overpowering or fat, like so many iem's and treble seems well extended. The bass is very easy to follow and clearly defined with a fast attack.

There's a nice choice of sizes in the pack for different ear canals and some sizes are just a fraction different allowing you to get a really good fit. They're very secure in the ear and comfortable when you hit the right size.

They do have a fairly spaced out kind of sound for this type of headphone as well. Very surprising in that they're kind of giving a headphone image. Never heard that before in an earbud.

Cable is soft to touch on the outside. It is very flexible so it doesn't have a life of its own like some slightly 'wiry' cables and it isn't microphonic. The cups are rock solid in metal. They're large but they fit into the ear space really well and don't stand out from your head at all. Looking at the size of them, I expected to have them protruding. Not at all.

I have to say that these buds sound great and I'm very grateful for the kind introductory offer from Fiio. Definitely worth buying if you want to go mobile with a great sound IMO.

Royal Mail delivery. Really well packaged and a lovely early surprise this morning.

Just eight days to get to the UK. I ordered some heli parts from China and they took three weeks to get here!!

Thank you Joe.

Very good iem Joe. The sound resembles a bigger headphone without being fat and bloated. It has a sense of space that I've never really heard in iem's. Must be to do with the semi-open design I guess.

The bass isn't big, but so well defined. Good attack but leaves the rest alone so you get a great sense of clarity with them. Maybe the titanium drivers?

What I don't get is just how you hot them over here in 8 days when my heli parts took 3 weeks!!! :p

Taping over the vent holes? There's a bunch of holes over the front of the driver that should increase bass if you cover them (the more holes covered the merrier basswise), while the one hole over the back should decrease bass if you cover it.

You are totally right =)
somebody said on the Dunu Titan 1, that covering 2 holes (on the front) increases the bass enough to make them fun without affecting the overall sound
The back hole its essential for the soundspace and imaging, also for a natural sound.
Mine will arrive in 1 or 2 weeks but any feed back from you guys will be great.

I'll listen as is for the time being otherwise changes will change it but I'm not sure improve it until I 'know' its sound. As it is, it is a very capable iem. I'm very impressed with the sense of space. Surprising really for an iem.

Quite chuffed with them really, but I don't want to put too many ideas into your head before you get them!!!

Edit ... The bass level is higher than I first thought. Listening to some old Thomas Dolby stuff and bass has really kicked in, deep and fast as heck. It has great bass actually.

Hey Ian,
It should depend on the fit too. Although the ports divert bass, if you fit the buds tight on your ears, the bass going through the ports would also bone-conduct somewhat into your ears :L3000:

Hello VladX3,
No,the offer has ended :xf_eek:

Best regards,
Joe
