Love the SM64 so lets see what the Onyx brings.
Onyx is only available direct from Earsonics, reducing distribution & production costs - https://www.earsonics.com/onyx//

Is there anyone have / had EarSonics SEM9? I've been using it since its introduction and wonder how ONYX differs from it and what are the similarities? TIA
I owned S-EM6 v2 and ES5 in the past. Tonality wise I would put ONYX between these two.
S-EM6 v2 is close to a neutral reference signature, while the ES5 was a typical "ES house sound" with a big bass (sub bass).

I'm sure these Onyx are very good sounding IEMs.
I quite like the Earsonics sound signature. I had the chance to own almost everything in their range (ES3, Velvet V2, SEM9, Grace, Blade, Stark, Purple) and I'm currently using a lot the only one remaining : Purple
I really liked the Blade, even more than the Stark (more balanced) but I sold them because of comfort. Shell is not small but above all weight was an issue.
Since they are using same shell for these Onyx, I suppose I'll be also in trouble with comfort unfortunately except if Earsonics is using a lighter material.

Great IEM, I really LOVE this sound! ONIX is well balanced, rich in timbres, with excellent dynamics and very musical sounded IEM.
And the price at this level of sound is very affordable.
