yes thats the one I bought; the only thing is it seems to be a bit hot, im using dx90 with cayin c 5, maybe thats why its hot.
 
Cayin its a good musical amp, i'm listening now with zero audio doppio. It sounds amazing.
 
Usually Doppio sound polite, sterile with 2.1.5 but now it ( 2.1.8 + Anker 4400 mah) it sounds powerful, with good bass, like a powerful stallion running out of the stall.

what would you say the difference is adding the c5 to the dx90 line out for 2.2.0? I have it too but forgot to try that combo when I flashed the 2.2.0... I suspect it will synergize quite well together since 2.2.0 is flatter and c5 is musical. Let me know your thoughts!

Hmmm, this makes me curious about the synergy between DX90 & Cayin C5

I have the C5 for quite some time, but it's stuck to my X5 (because of the almost same footprint) from day one.
I'll surely try it with DX90 after your post...

Totally agree with you. Cayin C5 with 2.1.5 and 2.1.8 sounded terrible for my ears. Just like a tin can. So at first I was disappointed about the C5 and wanted to sell it. But with 2.2.0 it's a great combination! The differences between the FW version is really large. 2.2.0 is the best (until now...).

2.2.0 is indeed fantastic , i had 2.1.5. and 2.1.8 these last days and i think this is the one to get (for me at least)

With BD DT 990 Pro/250 (even with its "coloured" sound) I don't think so and stay on the 2.1.5 L2 in moment.

Seem out on my own here. I'm finding 2.2 a bit smooth, safe, lacking excitement. Still lovely airiness. I usually don't have a favourite between X5 and DX90, finding them different, good parts in both. But X5 now has more get up and go. May go back to 2.1.5 which I upgraded from.

Wow, I'm using the universal version (4Ai S) and am usury at 160-180 with low gain.

yeah sorry, too quick ... 210-230  is when I'm listening with Alpha Dogs ... 4AS is usually 180-210. I listen mostly to classical - some are quite low volume.

Thanks for the info hamhamhamsta, I'm wondering if you're able to use the DX90 cover with the Anker 4400mah battery because it seems like it's double the thickness of the stock battery.

is anybody routinely using a truly portable amp with the dx90?   i have an ifi idsd micro, which sounds great from the dx90's line out [i prefer the dx90 dac stage to the ifi's], but the micro is hardly something you'd want to carry around.  so is there a smaller, truly portable amp that anyone is using regularly and getting better quality sound?
