$499 and I'll buy, since it only costs iBasso $149 to manufacture it, $350 is more than enough profit, then also ten times as many people will buy it.
$999 is out of reach for most buyers and just plain greedy, enough of these mama's boys who are happy to make paper planes out of $100 bills, they're in the minority and obsessed with buying any and everything in town because they're so unhappy in their heart and have money to throw away, just keep the price real for the majority and the real people.
And anyway, theres not a huge difference in manufacturing cost between a DX200 and a FiiO X1 - truth be known, just implementation and very-slightly higher priced parts here-and-there. Yes the DX200 will have some frivolous extras, but all for what, like it's not as if a few extra codecs for bluetooth and DSD actually cost anything worth mentioning.
R-&-D someone will say, ahhhh forget it, R-&-D was done years ago already, no R-&-D to speak of, minimal actually, each product has a design, but that's par-for-the-course, tell me something new Lol, next to no cost to recover.
The DX200 is simply a music playback device, they've been arond for donkey's years, nothing new at all, same ole same ole, so stop overcharging our ass', of which there are multitudes of different models on the market already when it comes to DAPs.
The reason a FiiO X1 costs $99 retail is because it costs barely more than my farts to manufacture, just like the iPhone costs Apple only $250 to manufacture (including all labour and shipping and parts), R-&-D was done ten years ago on the first model, then slight tweaks to the formula from there, nothing to it.
Please resist the greed factor, we all wish to buy, not just shi*ty nose Bob with a pocket full of cash.
