diy headamp for sansui headphone??

hi there...
i just bought my first headphone today a sansui model SS-2.. it was cheap

for it
i dont have a headamp so i want to build one that fits to the headphone..
i want something that is easy to build, dont cost to much max 200$ i guess..
what can you recomend??

Okay, I'll bite

we'll use teh calculator here

I'll assume a 100dB / mW sensitivity (since its not listed) and its reasonable

a 4.5 volt swing will get you to the threshold of pain for frequencies up to 10k

now that means we reverse derive the current output .. which would be around 100mA maximum since 4.5 volts at 100mA -> around 500mW.

Meh the specs point to something like a M^3 or szerkers (high output current) I think.. 4.5 swing isnt much so you can reduce the gain on the build..

Any other opinions?
