FA Tandem is probably the closest, other than that, you have to spend more than $200 and get SM3 v2

Chasing that combination through headphones alone is like chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

But your hf5 can actually be tamed of their harshness through a combination of deeper insertion or notch EQing to remove the ear canal resonance frequency spike, and multiband dynamics compression to limit the loudness of the loudest treble while preserving detail throughout the rest of the music.

Overall, I would still classify the RE-400 as a neutral earphone with just a hint of warmth. The midrange is clear and well-positioned, neither recessed nor forward in the presentation. Detail resolution is excellent and the overall sound is very transparent. The top end, similarly, is present but far from overbearing. Instead, it is delicate and refined. For an accuracy-oriented earphone, the RE-400 is rather smooth and forgiving—it is more tolerant of sibilant recordings than, for example, the Etymotic Research ER4.
