Denon AH-GC20 Headphone Discussion Thread

Well some Japanese guy has just posted a preview and a comparate review of the Denon AH-GC20 vs. the Sony MDR-1RBTMK2...
The Google automatic translation english subtext is pretty far out there, but from what I gather he prefers the sound signature of the Sonys, but would rather take the Denon's to a public commute due to the ANC.

Someone fluent in Japanese; feel free to fill in :)

Let's hope it just comes out soon!

Saw that the GC20 is listed on amazon overseas (France, Germany) but nothing in the U.S. so far.

However, in pics I noticed the 3.5mm cable (with no visible mic) appears to have 4 rings on both ends. Manual says call features don't work when wired so I wonder (perhaps wishful thinking due to waiting too long for these) if the GC20 can work in balanced mode or, if not, why it has dual TRRS ends?

Where'd you see it?
Can't find it listed on any amazon I've tried...

Only place I've found so far is here:

Didn't translate and don't think you can order it yet. They just have it listed which is more than amazon USA.

No, it is not available yet, of course. Not even preorder.
Strange, if I do a search for denon ah-gc20 in amazon.de, or even only ah-gc20, there is no result.
Ad a search for globe cruiser brings only the old model.
How did you find it?
And, how did I find it? I see that I was already registered for the alarm when it will be available :)

It is not available anywhere, not even in Japan.
No idea how that guy got one...
But, giving a prototype to a guy who likes more the MK2, not really well played :D

I did a google search of: denon gc20 amazon

Links appeared on 2nd page.

I know from experience that amazon's own search doesn't show unavailable items and google shopping rarely finds them. And now that thefind.com is gone, often have to use multiple search engines and languages to find links.

Also found pre-order? on ebay:

New review, dutch one this time. Google translate works pretty well for the page...

http://www.telegraaf.nl/digitaal/23957117/__Review__Denon_Globe_Cruiser_AH-GC20__.html

From what i can gather:
* Some minor pairing/ANC recycling bugs
* Wide frequency range, good separation
* A bit exaggerated bass
* ANC blocks out external low frequency sounds, but not so much high pitched noises like voices.
* ANC noticably reduces sound quality, the tester preferred it off

Will be interesting to see an M2 comparison some time in the future.

I'll take that.

If the apt-x bluetooth has no stuttering or dropping issues, the GC20 may do just fine.

Nothing yet, huh? I guess I will be getting the Plantronics Backbeat Pros then. Waited 2 weeks for either the Denon or the Sony MDR-1ABT. Nothing yet at all

They are available at audiovisuals as of yesterday if anyone interested:

I had them in a basket, but at the end decided not to buy. Was looking for a wireless replacement, but just found out that they don't have a microphone (even if you use them with cable) which I absolutely need.
