Is the pure basic a vast improvement over my M6?
@swim
Can you elaborate what you mean by V-shape. Because that was the last thing i'd expect from these customs. Do you mean a dip in the 100hz region just like the K550 and M50?
I really hate that sound because it sounds thin without alot of body for male vocals.

Here is my unboxing video:
By V-shape i mean that there is an emphasis on the bass and treble and a drop in the mids, unlike the k550. however i am not sure the treble quantity warrants a v shape signature but i will talk more on this later, i was knackered last night and just wanted to go asleep. I will give you some better impressions later!

Swimsonny, I must admit I'm a bit surprised, as I wasn't expecting that kind of sound signature for the HY3! But as you said, let them play for a good amount of hours before you make your judgement...

Interesting.
To be honest I was expecting this, I believe that the triple BA model will be the one with a more restrained bass.
Really looking forward to hearing your thoughts once they have a bit of burn in.

With burn-in dynamic driver can lost a bit of that midbass emphasis and gain some more subbass and better low end extension. Maybe also midrange will show up after burn-in process. Fingers crossed.

I'm hoping exactly that! I was expecting the HY3 to have great bass, but also well balanced mids and highs. The CE twin BA model was described as being very well balanced and detailed, so I was expecting the same for the mids and highs of the HY3...

I have to comment I was really tired last nIgjt so take with pinch of salt, something more structured and accurate will come tonight but it did seem to have a bassy sound, hopefully toned down with burn in.

Allright I wonder how it'll be.
I see that you have owned alot of iems and stuff. Wich one is the most comparable when you look at the frequency response.

That might help me making the right decision.

I will say that i was wrong in saying these are v shaped. The treble is not near enough present for that to be the case. These would be classed as a bassy signature (HY3).

But is the bass of good quality (fast and acurate)? And how about the mids and highs, are they nice and detailed, or are just overpowered by the bass?

Well, it's true. Being a dynamic driver, I also believe it will improve a lot with burn-in. But the twin BA won't, and that's why I'm asking about the mids and highs...

Might be hard to make a sound judgement when the bass response is not right..
Just sayin
