Hey, so I've repriotized from my previous thread (Good gaming headphones) amd figured that I have more time for listening to classical music on my Ipod than gaming.

So I've been looking at these headphones:

1. FA-003(USD165)
2. Q701(USD300~)
3. HE-300(USD200~
4. DT880 Pro 600/Premium 250(USD241/USD225)

1. Seems pretty solid.
2. Least preferred because of price and necessity of amp.
3. Pretty interesting, curious to kbow how they are for gaming.
4. Vs Q701?

Amp budget is around USD100, can stretch slightly. The O2 seems pretty cool.

There is a low priced  FA-003 knock off called the Brainwavz HM5, same headphone, but does not come with velour ear pads.
There is even a cheaper one then the HM5, but can not remember the name.
 
What are you using for gaming?

well it's not really a knock off. its the same oem

I would get that, but it's available where I live and customs really suck here. There's a high chance they'll get lost in transit. The deal at mp4nation now is pretty sweet though.

I read that for classical music the mids and low highs are important, is that true? If so, I should avoid V-shaped headphones right?

My HM5 is not a bassy headphone, so I would not think of them as having a V (or U?) shaped sound.
 
Jaycar Electronics sells the FA-003/HM5 under their own name.
"Jaycar Pro Monitor headphones". Catalog # AA2065
Guess that would be the lowest price for this model headphone.

As far as I know Yoga Electronics is the OEM. All other companies (Fischer, Brainwavs, Lindy, Jaycar) get the headphones from Yoga and basically slap a different name on them and sell them at a different price. Jaycars are the cheapest (70$), Lindys/Brainwavs (110/120$) and Fischer (180$). Note that you cannot buy from Yoga directly. Thanks for the info guys, but unfortunately the FA-003 is the only one available where I live (typo before).
 
I've rethought my list and lowered my budget slightly:
 
1.FA-003(USD165)
2.DT660(USD200)
3.A900X(USD250)
 
I don't mind open headphones.
 
Classical music is the priority over gaming.

What's a good amp for the Q701 around 150?

You could try plugging the Q701 into the Xonar DG, I would like to know how well the combo works.

I'm considering the HFI-2400 seeing as it's often compared to the Q701 and cheaper(242US). Any feedback on it?
