From input provided by Cayin and their team, it sounds like things are still in development. Am going to guess prototypes and review units are still several months off, and then there will still be a time lag before release. I'm in the same boat as you - holding off other DAP purchases as this one looks so interesting!

Top list for me right now is Cayin N6, X5 II, X7, Questyle QP1R, and maaaaybe the AK120ii. If the N5 were close at hand I'd hold off on a purchase but it looks like a long way away.

AK120ii ??? If you are seriously considering this ahead of AK100ii, then you would have Layla not Angie

Actually all the listed points are why I don't have a new DAP already. :wink_face:

I like the sound of the Angie more than Layla, better mids, more balanced.

The N5 looks like it ticks all the right boxes, but man........ Waiting is not something I like to do, but wait I will. Just because I made a list doesn't mean I'll be silly about a purchase. :rolleyes:

Don't forget Aune M2. Although Aune doesn't get much recognition around here they are a very much making products that compete and have unique hardware features.

Yup, they have some pretty cool products in the pipeline from the looks of things. But the N5 really has my attention right now.
