Brand Spanking New A&K AK120II and AK100II

I know it's boring as hell, but all I want for my 120ii is a black, smooth leather case like I had for my AK100.  I remember I had to order that from a Korean seller on eBay, and it wasn't cheap.

Yup, I've just got an AK120 II, and the case is functional, but I very much prefer the stock case shipped with the AK100 II (the smooth, clear leather case).

I think the AK100 II's case is fabric.

Eh? I think it's actually leather. Certainly feels like it. Anyway, it is a far better looking case than the crocodilian one shipped with the AK120 II.

I have owned AK120ii for almost six months now and I 'm still continuously blown away by it's SQ paired with LCD. The sound is very transparent and holographic. It is truly a revolutionary sound technology in such a small portable package.

Compare to laptop and desktop I have, AK120ii through its optical out is the best transport for the all mighty HUGO. The optical output from AK  to Hugo maintain the clarity and transparency as well as the depth of the sound stage vs USB laptop/comp.

The pairing is absolutely out of this world. Cheers.

It is synthetic. A polyurethane material.

Hi I just got the AK100ii the other day, I am having problems making a play list right from the device. This is what I was doing I created a play list called Rock and when I was playing a song that i wanted to add and I chose to add to that play list. It shows up in the playlist until i shut it off and turn it back on then it's gone. What am I doing wrong.

These are for VoIP and remote mic like from the iPhone, so the wiring are different.

Yeah, I suddenly realized it was 3.5 TRRS, not TRS.  I wonder if they would work with Hifiman or the new SONY ZX2 ?

I doubt that.

I see, thanks! Still looks better than the one shipped with the 120 II.

Another question on the AK100ii does it always take forever to initialize the SD card when you power the unit on.

Nope, mine doesn't take anytime at all to initialize the SD card. I see just the AK logo for about 15 seconds.

Wow. That is a lust-inducing rig. Do you use the DAC on the AK and the amp on the HUGO, then? What's the division of labor?

A quick Q: I usually use the AK120II next to my computer anyway. Would it preserve the battery more to keep it plugged in to the computer during use, or to operate on battery?

Thx.

Keep it unplugged.  Having it plugged in doesn't bypass the battery, it keeps it charging while you are also discharging it at the same time.  I don't have any hard data or official info on this, but I know that when I do that with my phone, it makes the battery overheat, and that ages the battery.

How many songs do you have on your SD card?
