Beyers are infiltrating my home rig. my 2 cans both have DT770 headband pads and earpads. Of course, one being a Grado SR200 and the other being a DT770/600 Ohm Darth Beyer modded beast, the pads are just icing on the cake. Long live Beyer pads!

I have been a Beyer owner in the past, and have now returned to the fold. Just received my brand new dt990's* yesterday.

It's great to be back!

The DT880 aluminum box is the best packaging I've seen for an under-$300 headphones. And I just love the sound.

I think I prefer the 880s over the 770s because of their integrated sound that doesn't over-emphasize bass or treble -- it just renders them nicely. Amped well, they're even better.

It would take some pretty heavy convincing to pull me away from these.

Ok, then for something completely different: Have you already tried the DT250/250?

Oh, no, that's not a Groovalizer - at least not for me. Stompalizer... hmm, yup... I'd call it the Stompalizer. Mighty Stompalizer... fatigues me within 5 seconds.

P.S.: Or what about Sonic Soupbowl (= mighty bass, hefty highs, mids lost somewhere in between...

Well, I said this once before, but might as well mention it again. The DT770-80 was my first over $100 headphone. I loved it, but wanted to try others. So, I bought a HD650(with DAC1, 1212/Glite) then a CD3000(paired with 1212) - both of those "high-end" cans didn't cut it for me.

The 770 is warm where it needs to be, spacious at the moments required, and offers more than enough detail for me, especially paired with a DAC1.

Oh and then there is the

It is just a great all around can, and even though my experience is limited, has to be one of the best values around.

I am going to try others, but I am never giving these badboys up.
