Hello head-fiers all around, I would like to suggest which headphones are great for hip hop. Booming bass cans are appreciated for a suggestion. (NO BEATS)

But I am hearing from many people that they are very bass light and balanced.

They aren't bass light, they just aren't as bass emphasized as other headphones.

Also, don't create multiple threads asking the same question, that goes against the posting rules.

Once you reach the $300-$900 price range, there are barely any truly bassy headphones out there. The D2K is a popular choice, but it doesn't have giant bass, just a bass emphasis. I don't do this often with such a price range, but if you want a headphone with tons-o-bass but also musical quality, the Sony XB1000 would fit the bill.

Edit: Sorry, just saw post #4. Disregard this post...

Yeah, I'm going to go with the XB1000 as well. That or EQ some of the other XB's and EQ em up for better musical quality.

D2k bass light, what are you on about...
anyway, if they are surely too bass light for your liking, then you need some serious bass treatment, the Pro900? DT770??

I don't think the D2K are enough bass for what TC wants. The Pro 900 and DT770 are more like what he'd want. D2K have pretty good heft down low but I'd not be satisfied with them if I was using the for purely hip hop/rap. I think they have enough for R&B though.

Denon D5000. Midbass+subbass, both equally powerful. Or Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO 80 Ohm. Nice too.

Denon D2000 don't have powerful midbass, it's not light and not heavy, - just neutral.

The Beyerdynamic DT990 is amazingly comfortable and has awesome bass. You have to be able to take the treble though.

I think that the denon d2k would be very nice for you. They have good impact in the sub bass and overall have a very nice sound. They are comfortable to wear for long period, but do not have much clamp force (one reason they are so comfortable). But they can easily slide around if I'm not sitting a my desk. Just a good overall pair of cans.

I am truly interested in the pro 900 but I hear from some people that there is little sub bass impact or something like that, and as for the dt770 i don't know if the bass impacts as well and what OHMS version should I get. Will the 32 ohms dt770 work for me?
