It has plenty of sub bass impact, it's just that the mid bass is pronouced enough to make it slightly feel like there isn't that much sub bass. I don't think you would regret getting the Pro 900.

Keep in mind that higher impedance headphones are harder to drive, so you may not be able to use them with an iPod if that's your goal.
