What is the sound of one hand clapping?

Clapping ?

Clap, clap, clap ...

More clear and defined without transformers; softer and more full with transformers.
More accurate spatial localization without transformers.
More presence without transformers.

Idem for percussion.

So Eric, with what looks to be enthusiastic posts you've written about the RKV-II and Verto box, do you know if there has been any ordered since you started writing about them.

Need ask Pierre Paya on HCFR, the seller who sold me the Verto box.

All I know is that, Pierre sold several, and that customers currently expect a replenishment to buy other Verto.
I even lent him my Verto box so that it compares the Verto with my experimental Wee (moded) box (also loaned), and his Wee box (unmodified) on the RKV-II amp, until it receives new Verto box (arrivals waiting).

Hello

I was thinking about one thing. Feel free to contradict me if I am wrong.

The tube amplifier (OTL) AudioValve RKV is produced since 1984.
With 30 years of commercialization, there must be a relatively large number of this amplifier around the world.
Maintenance poses no problem, the PCL805 tubes are very easy to find and cheap.

If you happen to come across one of these amplifiers, or if you already have, and you want to listen electrostatic headphones, it is now possible thing with a very low cost (compared to specific amplifiers for electrostatic headphones).

For 500 Dollars (USD) you can buy a Wee box and modified it, with my way, to disable the 1:50 of the Wee transformers, or keep them instead: in both cases you'll have an excellent amplifier for electrostatic headphone with your RKV, rivaling the best if one believes a certain comparison of amps performed on 13 September 2013 (which I was one of the four organizers members) : link : http://www.head-fi.org/t/681814/amplifiers-shootout-for-stax-009-eddie-current-electra-audiovalve-rkv-wooaudio-wee-stax-srm727-srm007t2

For 690 Euros, you now have the Verto box, which in my view is closer to the unmodified Wee (but and better) than the experimental Wee (modified): link : http://www.homecinema-fr.com/forum/post178227126.html#p178227126

Maybe one day soon, for a probably pretty close price, the creation of a hypothetical box Verto mk2, combining a Wee modified with the current Verto (to bring together the best of both worlds (at listening).

I should mention that I have no action in the AudioValve company and that I listen (and I buy) what I like.

Are you like one of those nigerian princes with lots of money you want to give away?

Yes, what I have in too, usually I give...

Joke aside

But in fact, who is at the origin of the Verto project and the RKV-Verto combo?

The answer is here: http://www.homecinema-fr.com/forum/post178246863.html#p178246863

Eric

PS : not more that Arnaud (fan of the Stax headphones), I'm paid in one way or another by the professionals of the Hi-Fi. It's me who pays the professionals to buy a Hi-Fi product (like everyone else) and not the reverse.
I am not more Prince Nigerian that can be CybDev

. I live of my job which is to treat people (I'm doctor).
I spend my money as it pleases me (Hi-Fi, biking, photography, but above all to meet the needs of my family).
Otherwise, I love the literature American (Suzanne Collins) (see my avatar)
I'm talking about on the forums of the brands (equipment Hi-fi) that it pleases me to talk (like any fan who respects himself): for me the brands Stax, AudioValve and Audiomat.
I wanted to make these clarifications.

Eric

Just leave me out of this already!

Also, let helmut know that the picture I posted with the T2 and BHSE is a mock-up, not an actual experience, and especially not an endorsement (http://www.audiovalve.info/to/verto.php)...
We joke, we joke, and soon enough reality distortion plays in and we put incorrect words into one's mouth...
Seems a bit thick, but just wanted to clarify.

So Eric, to try and improve the health of your patients, do you suggest they read the posts you've written about the RKV-II and Verto.

No.
To improve the health of my patients I ask them to lose weight and increase their physical activity.
But nothing also prevents them from relaxing listening to music; it is also good for health, provided you do not listen too strong.

Does sound (no pun intended) interesting this RKV and energiser combo. Thing is, the RKV is about the same money as the BHSE isn't it?

Unless you are using it as a speaker amp as well, seems odd to go that route IMO. I would love to read a none bias review from someone who has both the RKV+Vertigo and a KGSShv or BHSE to compare.

Maybe the RKV is quite warm sounding, being a tube amp, and maybe that helps the Stax sound a bit? I am a great believer in having some tubes in the chain if using digital, either at the start in the DAC, are at the end like the BHSE. It brings things back to realism and calms the digital energy (treble edge/coldness) a bit to me.
