i just answered my own question...yes they fit but the w5000 pads are preferred...though neither seem to prevent your ear from touching the driver.

Could you elaborate why W5000 pads are preferred instead?

they are supposed to be slightly thicker. i wonder if jmoney denon pads or stax 007 pads could be made to work. sorry about my inconsistant punctuation...my phone doesnt work well with this forum.

Where would you find the L3000 pads first of all? These were only for the limited edition AT's so they'd raise the resale price if you were to find a pair, but just buy the L3000's if you would find a pair.

You need to do the tube mod if you don't want them touching your ears. That basically involves putting a circle of PVC tubing under the pads.

i dont have the ad2000, just considering options. im considering my headphone options at around 500 dollars or under. looking at ad200, t70p or ultrasone 2900. i currently have heavily modded grado sr80i and i like them but crave a little more detail and alot more space and soundstage.
