Yes. As much as I would like to believe every user saying how great a pair of headpones is after a week of owning them, I prefer to wait for a few months and see what they say when they get used to them.

That's fair, sometimes I suffer new toy effect, but like dallan said these sound better after you get used to them.
 
The first time I heard them I thought they sounded cloudy, and a bit unusual, while high quality.  I knew it would take me a while to get used to their sound.

So, with the ES10, I can listen to violins at HIGH VOLUME WITHOUT SIBILANCE.
 
It's not dark, either.

Speed metal and rock is excellent it just has an angelic MTV type tone and you can hear every instrument seperately including bass guitar and every drum pattern.

If your favorite is the Sony EX1000 I'm not sure if the ES10 is right for you, but you're welcome to try it.  Just remember keep listening for up to a week to acclimatize.

How do you feel about the tonality of the ES10s? Would you say they sound natural to your ears in terms of realism and decay?

No, they don't sound open-air and natural, they sound cloudy and ethereal.
 
You like the MDR-V6 right?  I can compare to that one later if you like.
