No problem
You might be able to go to a store and see if you can reserve and pair and have them send it overseas~

 I... Want... Everything.

I've always wondered: why are the high-end audio-technica models hardly ever mentioned, and how do they compare to other flagships?

Heh. = ) I got a fast reply too, great service.

Will be an expensive pair if I get one... It sucks to live in Europe at the moment, euro is so weak against yen at the moment. = (

Yep, that's another reason why I'm holding off on this.

AT just isn't that popular compared to some other brands around here. :)
Many of them are very coloured, but to me it's a sound that I can get along with.

Yeah... Too bad that they won't last for long I suppose and I really want mine as new if I plan to get these.

Audio Technica hardly ever promotes their products outside of Japan or Asia in general. I don't mind Audio Technica for not being popular overseas as the market there seems to be only trusting their own brands (just-a-opinion). I just like the Audio Technica house sound so I'm specifically getting myself one of these headphones. If people overseas want Audio Technica they are most likely specific buyers.

Back awhile ago in Head-fi, members absolutely abhorred any kind of closed headphone. They'll go on a bashing frenzy as long as it's closed. They also hate midrange emphasis (it's an Asian thing). Combine the two and um.. yea...

They're not as easily available as the HD800/T1/LCD2/PS1k/HE6/500, so you'll rarely hear them being talked about. Plus their current flagship, the W5000 is very picky with amps - well they work with TWO amps, the Yamamoto and the HA5000. It's also a few years old (so no FOTM). Lots of factors actually.

That said, the AD2000 and W1000x are fairly popular.

Yep, here it is
ATH-W3000ANV: November 18, 2011 (limited 2000)
ATH-CKW1000ANV: November 18, 2011 (limited 2500)
ATH-PRO700MK2ANV: November 18, 2011 (limited 2800)
ATH-HA5000: November 18, 2011 (limited 200)
ATH-M50sLE: January 2012 (foreign countries only)

That's insane... They sell 2000 units of the W3000 but only 200 units for the amp? Wait... isn't the HA5000 meant for the W5000? I hope the W3000 doesn't sound like the W5000.

I hope it does, Albeit with more body in the sub-bass and lower mids but still retaining that clear, etheral-like presentation. That's when i'll get back to AT's arms again. :)

If I am not mistaken, the HA5000ANV is just HA5000 with a different finished wooden front, similar to the HA2002, ESW10Jpn finish.

Yep, it seems that the specs are the exact same, except that the 5000ANV is 100g lighter haha
Can't even tell if that's accurate though, since on the 5000ANV it says 4.9kg for only the amp while for the 5000 it just says 5.0kg

I assume that is the difference in the wood density, the normal HA5000 uses heavier ebony wood than the cherry wood on the HA5000ANV. That might explain the small weight difference.

I'm not even really sure how I'd like it to sound like, but I mean I don't want it to sound like the W5000 because it seems like the most amp-picky headphone I've ever heard. I love how the W3000ANV looks so far though. I really miss having an W2002 for it's beautiful cups, comfort, and excellent build quality. The W3000ANV *seems* to cover most of what was good about the W2002 externally. Only dubious design in my mind is about the W3000's wings. The W5000s did not fit for me and the W1000X barely fitted...
