In the headfi video, Sankar mentioned he has developed an in ear version of the e-stat for MRI applications.
This may hint towards an audiophile in ear e-stat in the future...

Obviously I want this baby. I'm wondering if the Stax SRM-D10 would be a good pairing. It's what I can afford if I bought the CRBN

Measurements look fantastic. The headphone itself looks like a cross between an HD6__ series and a Meze Empyrean with the lauded Audeze suspension strap. 300 grams is quite the achievement. Amazing

Looks incredible! Wish it did not require a new amp in my system.

At the end of Jude’s videoAre the measurements in the Video or somewhere else?
Here's a running list of Electrostatic amps our team has used with the CRBN with good success. What amps would anyone recommend for Estsats? I have zero experience in the Estat playing field.
Please note: Although the Stax amp listed has the "pro bias" of 580 volts and will work with CRBN, there are some (older) Stax amps that have both the original "Normal" (230 volt bias) and the "Pro" (580 volt bias) sockets. The CRBN requires the use of the 580 volt socket to work properly.

$4500 is…serious money.
Looks beautiful! I wish I could have one to review. Such is life though….probably won’t get the chance!

Worth noting that Jude in the video said he tried it on more affordable amps and they worked fine, including:
- STAX SRM-D10 (EDIT: seems it was mentioned in video more to highlight how relatively easy CRBN is to drive, not as an amp recommendation per se )
- STAX SRM-353X (EDIT: Jude has clarified that he didn't really listen to them on this amp as HF has just recently picked up this amp from HeadAmp for measurement purposes since it's a fully solid state amp and thus ideal for measurements)

There you are! I knew I was bound to see you post again in a headphone related sub-forumI enjoyed my time on the 2nd gen Wes, sounded great on the stax 009 and 007.
You'll need to get in touch if you pick up a set of these. I might actually pick up a 007 for a fair price after these get out in the wild HA HA HA.

The SRM-D10 seems to drive it easily, but it wouldn't be my first choice. The SRM-353X we use in the measurement rig because it's solid state. We just picked up the SRM-353X from HeadAmp, so I haven't spent any time listening to it.
Of the amps we have, without a doubt, the CRBN was best driven with the Frank Cooter amp, to my ears. The Frank Cooter amp (pictured below) is at the office (it's HUGE, and I have nowhere to place it in my rather small home), so at home I use the STAX SRM-007tII.
(Above) The Frank Cooter custom-designed/built 845 tube electrostatic amp.
I'd love to hear it on the HeadAmp Blue Hawaii, and will do that at a CanJam just as soon as I can. That amp has impressed me every time I've heard it.
Again, while the SRM-D10 can drive the CRBN, I'd recommend a better amp if you have the means.
