@zach915m, any estimate on when the next 12 headphones go out to move me in the top 6?

Have 15 sets burning in through CanJam and then will make at least another 10 next week.  My estimate is that we will ship 15 - 22 next week and then 12-18 every week after that.

Nice! I think mine ships next within two weeks then. That means I might have my Milo by then and my QP1R can be the DAC until I get my Musette.

You got the one with the lucid mode knobs???????  I can't wait to hear it!!!!

I listened to my Decware Taboo MKIV for the first time today.  It is a stunning piece of equipment.  Not just beautiful with the feel of quality workmanship but sonically gorgeous.

First listen was with ZMF Ori headphones and AK380 as the source. The new knob for adjusting the Lucid effect was easy to adjust.  Using the Lucid on/off switch to A/B shows a dramatic affect on the sound.  The dual volume adjustment is something I suddenly can't live without.  My old ears appreciate the fine adjustments I can make.

I am not qualified to describe the sound presentation in terms that the audiophile wants to hear.  All I can say is the MKIV sounds better than any of my other equipment.  I own Ray Samuels Raptor, Red Wine Audio Audeze edition and other headphone amps. With Lucid off the sound is similar to the Red Wine Audio setup which is wonderful.  When I turn on the Lucid mode I feel as if I've moved from the front row to onstage. I hear everything in the recording.

My Atticus and Eikon should arrive soon.  The Ori and Taboo combination has set the bar high.  Will one of the new challengers knock the Ori off it's perch atop the world? Can't wait to find out!

Cool. Can you elaborate more on what this Lucid effect is? I'm unfamiliar

To my ears the Taboo MKIV Lucid mode gives more prominence to the softer sounds in a recording.  Say a piano was further from the microphone than the drums.  In the recording the drums would be "louder" than the piano but if you heard the same music live all the instruments would be heard equally based on the individual tone or pitch.

I know this is a simple answer but I am not an expert and cannot explain the technical aspect of the effect.  It just makes the music sound live.

My short understanding is that it's a cross-over that is frequency specific.  There is some info on the site here:  http://www.decware.com/newsite/Taboolucidmode.htm and here:  http://www.decware.com/paper67.htm

In listening, it's a plankton micro-detail emphasizer and soundstage booster offering more space between the musicians and notes.

@Timekiller  I'm super jealous!

I just found this on their website, too...this must be one killer amp!

Here's the quote:

"With the NEW Taboo UFO we've kept original lucid mode unchanged and fully in tact. But then we developed a second lucid mode targeted at the 50 ohm range of headphones like the LCD-2 that would work in harmony with the first.  Since the first lucid mode is almost like listening in mono, the second becomes a dynamic expander that explodes the size, width, depth, and scale of the music making it instantly engrossing.  When both modes are used together, the amount of detail retrieval from your recordings is simply unbelievable.  In fact, we should have called it the "wow" switch because that's what everyone says when they hear it."

It is a killer amp.  I am sure you noticed the ZMF Ori in the pictures.  It drives the Ori beautifully.  However, a new version called the MKIV in now being produced and Steve from Decware says the website will be updated soon.  The big difference is now there is one Lucid switch. It is either on or off. When on there is a knob that you can "dial" in the correct setting that matches the various headphone impedance. My Atticus and Eikon have not arrived yet so I can't comment on how they match up yet but I am sure it will be good.  Also, the new version has dual volume control. Older ears will appreciate how you can dial in the perfect setting for each ear.

I have my RCA and USB cables along with the Uptone Regen, but they are lonely now due to no Atticus or Eikon headphones, no DAC (being shipped with headphones) and no Milo (still one to two weeks away). :frowning2:
