Thanks for the info.
Someone pm'd me the link and I had no idea that the 300 series were all different sizes.
Damn! You'd think they'd use the same casing! LOL!
I'm pretty sure I should be able to use this as a Bluetooth receiver but once I finish pairing it's not outputting any audio. Has anyone been able to use this a Bluetooth receiver?
I just bought AK300 and to be honest there is no difference in sound quality compared to my rockboxed Sansa Clip Zip. They sound exactly the same. I’ve read reviews stating analogue sound and impeccable imaging and soundstage and so forth. Am I missing something?
If two, completely differently designed DAPs sound exactly the same... there's something wrong going on. That's not to immediately claim which should be better, but simply because they don't sound any different either way, there is something wrong going on with either your headphones or ears or brain ... or music files of course.
Sometimes it just depends on what you're used to, your exposure to different qualities of sound and therefore spotting the differences.
But still, you couldn't hear *ANY* differences between the AK300 and Sansa Zip Clip? None at all? Not even if the Sansa sounded better? There are plenty of differences between different DAP designs I can hear. I can't alway tell which is "better" but I can hear the differences.
Anyway, why have you bothered to come to mention it here? Why mention it at all, especially when this thread is about the recorder add-on.... not discussing the sound of playback. The AK300 is the cheapest way to use the DSD recording device, and seeing as it would be for recording, it doesn't matter what its playback is like.
I thought this was the AK300 thread. I’m sorry I was mistaken. To answer your question, no I did not hear any difference between the two. I’m not saying the AK300 sounded bad. I’m just saying that my rockboxed 40 dollar sansa clip zip dap sounded just as good. To my ears anyway. I do hear a difference between my Sansa Clip Zip and Plenue D2 though. And that is in favour of the D2. This is not the right thread to discuss the D2 but the sound quality of this DAP is so much better than my Zip. Especially if you to some extend use the Jeteffects.
