Been enjoying Susvara for a week now. It's starting to break-in and sounding nice.
We all desire what we perceive to be the best. At least what our wallets deem to be the best at any point in time. Quality headphones used to be a purchase that would easily last five to ten years. Manufacturers generally had no problems in producing a product that withstood the test of time whilst maintaining audio quality. Today TOTL headphones are being thrown about like iPhones. The pace at which enthusiasts trade older models in, for a substantial loss, to upgrade whether perceptibly or for simply for a different sound signature, is staggering. Others spend 3 grand just for another pair as a spare.
We all have free will to purchase what we want when we want. I've been in the audio business for far too long. Most of the R&D is already paid for with these headphones, unless the company wants to lay off existing employees. Marketing is mainly done for free through trade magazines like these, advertisements which are not free ad trade shows, which are already booked. IMO the profit margins on these headphones is bigly huuuuge. Gobs of money is being made for just another flagship headphone which in reality could probably be sold for half its asking price while still making 100 percent margins. I don't want to say that they are eye gouging, but I seem to have stepped on a slimy substance and have watched Kill Bill too many times...
Have had a few hours running the prototype. I am using the 4 pin balanced cable to connect the Susvara to the Cavalli Liquid Gold, running on high gain at about 11 o'clock.
The rest of the chain is Bricasti M1, Auralic Aries, Melco 1ZH.
Interestingly, the Susvara has a denser sound to it. The trebles also seem to be much more in control. Listening to familiar Mandopop, there seems to be more speed and nimbleness. The music seems to be more realistic and impactful. The soundstage also seems to be enlarged as compared to the HE1000v2. Imaging is excellent.
It is still early days in my time with the Susvara prototype. I look forward to spending more time with this pair of cans this weekend.
For real ? You can say some headphone is TWICE as good as Another while both is high-end ? That is awesome. I hope SusVara MkII will sound as Twice as good to the MkI in the future
I wanna see some Focal Utopia and SR-009 comparisons with the Susvara!
Focal "Utopia" (or whatever their $5K model is) and Sony's ($1-2K job) is easily outer-performed by the Hifiman 400 (s/i's). Gimme a break.

Ouch! Them's fightin' words LOL

It's more so that good system synergy will beat a bunch of expensive components randomly thrown together. I would guess your assessment is a result of that specifically.
No help for me, but i can wait, no rush, got to check lcd4 as a comparison of preference. I think its early days still
Man you have some great gear; M-1, Melco, Cans (but Auralic 'Aries')?

Wew lads.
Welcome to the era of ridiculous pricing.
This thing better be near perfect or i will laugh and laugh and laugh like no tomorrow
From their website the power output for the EF1000 is:
@TeamHiFiMAN do you know when/if reviewers will get a sample, eg Innerfidelity (want to see the measurements).
