Well, it's between Meze 109 Pro and AKG K812. I Wish I could run balanced with the K812...

just got this and Its amazing in detail retrieval, one problem, vocals arent up to par. they sound recessed, weak, lack of energy. All the other instruments sound great but this is ruining it for me. This is my eq settings. Anything that can be changed to help this issue?

Maybe try it without eq? Looks like your eq isn't right anyway. Try Oratory 1990, as mentioned above.

Has anyone heard K812 and Meze 109 Pro? I am deciding between the two.

After having spent considerable time lately with the K812 and HD800, I've come to the conclusion that the 812 bests the HD800 on every genre of music I have thrown on them. I have held the opinion that the hd800 had the edge with classical, but no more. The K812 is just more realistic sounding.
Hello, is this true?

I am thinking of getting a k812 but could you possibly tell me how well they compete against some newer headphones that were released over the years?
Or if there are headphones thar bests the k812, which ones?

I had the hd8xx (with sticker mod to sound like the hd800s) with the akg 812 pro together, the akg beats the hd8xx in almost everything except bass heavy genres and soundstage. The imaging is the best I heard, better than my he1000 stealths. Details is the same level as the hd8xx and hd800. Treble is slightly more BUT it dosent have the peaks of the hd8xx modded had. the only thing i wished was that it have a bit more bass (it has tight impactful bass not rumbling bass) and a bit more weight to the notes. The most underrated headphone I think their is. I am selling mine because the he1000 is the better headphone overall but I do believe it beats most flagships rn.

@Spyronight
When it comes to the bass, the DT1990 (balanced pads) sounds fuller and, in my opinion, more natural, than K812.
I own both (see my signature)

AKG K142HD were my first more or less better headphones which led me into the audiophile world so i have a weak spot for AKG headphones.
I would really love to hear the AKG 812 Pro one day but I'm happy with my Hifiman HE-500 as it is.

The AKG K812 and K872 are rather unique IMHO, really are reference tools but may be an acquired taste as they lack what some call musicality.

Back in 2017.....
Funny...used Senns own HD800 demo cd and nailed it on the K812s...

Currently I've the the K872 which are the closed back version and are slightly more forgiving in the high treble than the K812s........both offer me glimpses into recordings that I've yet to achieve with other phones, almost like having a live feed from the studio.

But as I mentioned they are not everyone's cup of tea so maybe best to audition prior to committing.
