For FPS gaming and causal gaming, K612 or the HD558s?

I haven't used the 558s but I've used the 598 briefly and the HD650 for a good amount of time.
I would pick the AKGs.

Who has upgraded from a FiiO E12 to a better portable amp for the K612? I used the E12 with my DX50 to power the K612s, and sometimes I like to run them pretty loud. At those volumes, feels like the E12's SQ is struggling.

And No. Don't want an O2. I want something that least has a chance of fitting in my pocket. And I have big pockets :)

I'm so split between the K 612 Pro's and the HD600's...

How do they compare?

Thanks!

K612 has a lighter touch bass and is less 'thick' sounding. Treble is more apparent. Perhaps HD600 is more 'speaker like' and k612 'seems' more analytical in sound by comparison.

I like both tbh.

Thanks! That more "natural" and "speaker like" experience is what I am looking for. However, the 600's are more than double the price of the AKG's. Ouch...

In case anyone is looking to buy a K612 Pro, they might not catch this low price. $171 shipped at Buysonic: https://www.buysonic.com/products/akg-k-612-pro/

Must register to view their products. That's better than Amazon's current price. They do not allow returns unless there is a problem with the headphones (read their return policy). It's because they are a flash sale site.

I got mine from dv247 for £112, they've now gone up to £115. You do get a 3 year warranty and 30 day money back guarantee though.

For the price, you get a wonderful headphone. I've had a k601 since they emerged and moved to the 612 when they appeared. I always felt that the K 601 was overshadowed by the k701 tbh and always was a great buy. The K612 is slightly more mellow and at that price, is a fantastic bargain.
