Reverse engineering is an industry in itself. Japan and China have been doing this for decades. It is difficult and unfortunately expensive to enforce. I know because I had one of my ideas which I did turn into a product was stolen and money is still being made on my idea. Fortunately I had a least a year of sales before it was being produced by another less scrupulous party. The laws have to change before people's intellectual property is protected.
