Can't say I like this design, the rhythm is a bit too off for me, eye flow is not exactly right for me either. The worst part is the increased cognitive load as the entire page moves as I scroll through the contents, would be better if they had two rolls of those preview thingies, and some options on the side so I don't have to move back to the top to select filters on the content I want to view. The highlight used could be a bit more on the orange side and a tad more accents in the same orange would be cool too.

Now this I like, but still too black and white, accents would do nicely here. Would be perfect if the left column was at the bottom of the slideshow too.

Again, I recommend not to cut off the photo frame of this area here. A drop shadow along the whole edge could work too because the huge contrast draw attention to it.

 
Maybe turn this into a high-res slideshow instead?
 
A hyperlink at the end of each paragraph that says "Read more..." would be nice too. It is not immediately clear to users that there is more to the reviews.
 
There is a Facebook and Email button, but I don't see a RSS one, maybe that should be added too?
 
The review page should have more columns, instead of a single long one.
 
Other wise it is pretty clean, a bit colours would be cool too though.

How's rewrite btw, it was mentioned in my anime course for having
a looping story line.
along with Ever 17 and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.
 
EDIT: IIRC, Cross†Channel was also on the list. :p
