Regardless of whether it is 0.5 or 0.3 I think this one is a classic. I had the 0.3 and it worked great with the sennheisers (slight hum with the Grados) Where is that review??

If you can get a 0.5 for $200 then it is a STEAL!!

Well I gave them a call this morning, and the one they opened for me, was the rev 0.3, so beware, regarless of the price, if you have low Z cans be careful, it may hum...it is fixable, but you have to made an extra investment on that.....

Sov, I'm interested with Perreaux sxh1 and it seems AA is currently the only one who sell it. I'm going to match this amp with Sony CD3k and philips 963SA as source. My concern is regarding the hum, how much will it cost to fix it and where can I have it fixed, I'm not a diy person.

It will hum pretty badly in your setup. The CD3K is VERY revealing and the 963 is a pretty sharp source.

You can fix it with an impedance matching device...ask a DIYer for suggestions.

Alternatively - contact Perreaux about getting it fixed.

I recommend this amp to those with high impedance headphones ONLY - unless they want to take the trouble to fix the hum.

Cheers!

Hi gsferrari, How're you doing? Just called AA, I just ordered one, they told me that they should have some 0.5 ver. I have insisted that they send me the 0.5. Not bad for $197.95 with free shipping and 2 years manufacture warranty. Now, it's time to order Sony CD3k and interconnects

My poor wallet.

Also don't forget that their 30 day satisfaction guarantee applies to even the demo stuff so if it doesn't work with your system, you're only out the return shipping. I'm giving one a shot.

Well FYI I called again this morning, and they were able to find one Rev 0.5 for me (it seems that they have others as well) Just ask for the Rev 0.5 when you call them.....

The fix for the rev 0.3 in my case did not worked at all, and I return it (actually mine was not humming before and it did after, weird right?) They modiffy the circuit on rev 0.5....Let's wait a few days now for it, but honestly for 197.00 and free shipping, I couldn't resist to pull the trigger for that beauty........(BTW they are selling them at cost, so you know now the real cost of the units, to the dealers, the rest is a rip off IMO, OK?)
