Hidizs AP60
Nov 3, 2016 at 7:17 AM Post #203 of 773
Hi, i received my Hidizs AP 60 and i have following experience:

I got it with firmware 0.04 and i was surprised that it supports ISO-Images from SA-CD, but after i updated to firmware 0.06 this feature was not available anymore.

The bluetooth support transmit and receive.
The receive-feature (it means work like a bluetooth headset) supports apt-x low latency, but you can not control the bluetooth host (pause, forward etc.)
The transmit-feature works well including control the AP60 from your headset.

USB-IN DAC works, you need USB Driver from Hidizs, you need special Installation on Windows 8.1 and 10 because auf an unsigned driver, details see posts below.

Nice the device stops playing, if you unplug the headphone.
Supports CUE-Files, no need to repack big album-file with cuesheet in track files.

Supports USB OTG. Plays Music from external USB Stick (Successfully tested with FAT32 and NTFS Sticks).

Equalizer seems useless.

Long pressing return key on the playing screen, brings you back to the main menu.
On the main menu short press return key brings you back to playing screen.
On the bluetooth screen, you can cancel pairing a device with context key (key on upper left corner).

The keys difficult tu use. Sometimes i get forward when i desire return-key.

I hope Hidizs brings back playing SA-CD ISO and makes USB DAC-OUT working.

Overall good value for money.

USB-IN DAC not works, i tried with Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 i always get a driver error.

Your need to "disable driver signature enforcement windows 10" (Google that sentence); then install the driver.
After driver installation, just play from a music player that supports ASIO.

I suppose i should download and install the FiiO Drivers.
I did it, but i can't install it.

I've got the message

Setup requires that the device is plugged in. Please connect the device you want to install and make sure it is turned on. If your device is currently connected, please unplug and replug it.

I unplug and replug the device multiple times, but not recognized.

I supposse you have 0.6 fw on your AP60, true ?
Ok, first:

You just have to disable the driver signature  enforcement in Windows 10.

a. Press the little window on the left hand down of your screen and click on  PC settings. ( configuration )
b. Switch over to the “Update & recovery” section.
c. Then click on the Recovery option on the left hand side.
d. Once selected, you will see an advanced startup section appear on the right hand side. You will need to click on the “Restart now” button.
e. Once your Computer has rebooted you will need to choose the Troubleshoot option.
f. Then head into Advanced options.
g. Then Startup Settings.
h. Since we are modifying boot time configuration settings, you will need to restart your computer one last time.
I. Here you will be given a list of startup settings that you can change. The one we are looking for is “Disable driver signature enforcement”. To choose the setting, you will need to press the F7 key.

Now take your player on your hand.
Go to System settings.
Choose USB mode : DAC

Now connect your AP60 with Windows 10. ( with the usb wire )

You will see a kind of picture of a Dac on your AP60's screen

Then you have just to install the  Tusbaudio driver  which it came with the 0.6 fw file . ( USB_AUDIO20_Windows_driver ). I supposse that previously you unzip it...

Windows will warning you 2 times that if you want reallyto install the driver or not and you have to click on the second option: " accept to install the driver."

After this the driver will install without problems.

Now you can use the AP60 player with your favorite music program ( Foobar2000, Aimp etc. ) just choosing in preferences of these progrmas the ouput ( TUSBAUDIO ASIO DRIVER )

Thanks for your detailed explaination.

I downloaded the update zip from hidizs support page.
The zip-file contains 3 files only.

  1. 0.06╣╠╝■Ë┼╗»─┌╚¦0.06 Beta Firmware Optimizing Content.txt
  2. update.upt
  3. Upgrade instructions.txt

I guess your update zip-file contains additionally the TUSBAUDIO ASIO DRIVER.

Where you get your update zip-file?

Thanks in advance.
