Well, I tested the 1.gen ap60 with fiio btr3, and yes..no apt-x detected.

Hm, i just tested my 1 gen AP60 (CRAP) with saturn Pro avant ree and the led says it is using sbc...

Since it just so crappy I've only used it with single earbud and recently the jabra 65t,but if this is true...

It seems that the AP60, AP60II, AP60Pro, and the AP200 can only SEND APTx, and cannot receive it. So they :do have APTx, just only to allow them to Send signal to another device. Not to receive from another device.

yes, thats the issue and aptx is not detected by the items you send music to. Did install ap60v2 latest firmware on my orig ap60.

The most annoying bug with the ap60 was that bluetooth controls only worked with screen off, when bt settings was last selected.

To My Ear the APTx seems to work in Send mode. I don't have a way to measure though.

Yes, You can. However, be aware of some bugs with buttons and the clock function isn't working properly. The rest should work pretty well.
