Cayin i5 Lossless Android DAP with AKM4490 DAC supporting 32/384 PCM + 64/128 DSD

But why is there a feature for it? It is unfortunate if so, still hope may be fixed in the next update:)

Just my opinion. The platform of i5 is android, that fact is established. Now, the "feature" you're talking about is really, the installation of 3rd party apps only, it doesn't matter if it is youtube, spotify, tidal, etc. Youtube was not pre-installed in the device so you cannot say it is a feature. I read in some previous pages here that Cayin only allows these installations but doesn't guarantee that every application we install will work flawlessly. We still have to keep in mind that we are using a DAP and not a DAVP, DVP, whatever you want to call it. It's a Digital Audio Player. AUDIO. So please let's not expect that the device will work with VIDEO the way we want it just as audio will. Again, this is just my opinion.

What @pr0b3r said.
Google Play is just a general feature, it is there to be used to download third party music apps.

Like I said, if you feel watching vids on a DAP is important, then you're better off with Onkyo or Sony.

How's the latest firmware on your i5 guys? Is the overall experience smooth?

I wonder how the Cayin i5 fare against other DAPs with AK4490 DAC. Still on the fence on what to buy.

Can you please share some detailed comparison between your Cayin i5, QP1R, and DX80 please? I understand the price differences but at least give your feedback/impression. That will be very much helpful.

I want to know, especially between QP1R and i5, if the price gap is really that wide sound-wise (not that I am planning to get a QP1R anytime soon).

qp1r is in a different league to the i5 in all honesty but what i like about the i5 is the staging.
dont bother with dx80, the battery is mediocre.
cheers!

Get the i5. Best value for money. Anyhow the source makes max 5% of the listening experience. 95% determined by the headphones/earphones respectively
the synergy of headphones/earphones with the source. Plus UI and scrollwheel of the QP1R is gruesome.

I was rather happy with my i5 until i paired it with my jomo samba today. Sound is fantastic but the hiss level is just crazy! Its like having an angry cobra in my ears :-(.

This is quite puzzling as there is little to no hissing with other sensitive iems. Anyone else experiencing hiss with particular pairings?

Hello friends, I want to ask, i5 users, when using youtube, why the video is often late, when playing, the mouth and the sounds emitted are often late and not exactly what is issued. Please help friends, is going on with you guys?

But why is there a feature for it? It is unfortunate if so, still hope may be fixed in the next update:)

The i5 is a fully customized Android Digital Audio Player. We have clarified repeatedly that a lot of Android service that is not related digital audio playback have been sealed/removed. For this reason, while we support installation of third party applications, but we cannot guarantee all applications will be fully functioned in i5, especially non-audio related features.

Most android mobile phone can playback Youtube with perfect video/audio synchronization. That's because the Audio and Video decoding (and amplification) are done in an integrated chipset, This is not the case of i5. The video signal of i5 is decoded by the MCU but the audio signal will output from the MCU to a comprehensive DAC and analogue circuit, and I believe this is the main selling point of i5.

Since the audio and video signal are decoded under a very different signal path, so there is good chance that the result will not be synchronized correctly. To achieve synchronization under this signal processing condition, we need to develop a DSP function called Lip Sync. This is not tremendously complicated, but does required to downmix all audio signal to a specific bitrate (which will defeat the purpose of Hi-Res audio support completely) before the DSP platform can compute the delay required to correctly synchronize the audio and video signal.

In a nutshell, i5 does not have this DSP capability, and Cayin has no plan to implement such a DSP function in order to support youtube playback.

Thanks for the reply Andy:) so the point though until the final firmware, will not be able to solve this problem?

Thanks Andy :)
Want to ask how do I shows the album art? His story, I rip CDS yourself but there is no album cover art, so I downloaded the picture from the album after that I put in the folder files along with some songs from my rip results. But no one appeared the album artnya.
Before I wear ibasso dx80 images album art certainly looks after I put in the folder.
But for this unreadable cayin album art it is.

I wanted to ask how do I bring up album art? And are there any specific criteria in order to read it? Thank you very much:)
