Dapper for Mac updates: App to sync iTunes with your DAP
Jan 27, 2017 at 10:57 AM Post #151 of 332
Hi Jeremy,

I have a Cowon PM2 and am aware that it doesn't support external playlists. Is this something that you think is able to be worked around (even manually) or is it a lost cause?

HI Jeremy,
I just got a dapper v2.68 from App Store with MacBook Pro / Onkyo DP-X1.    2things would need your help

1. I can sync AIFF file into DP-X1 but I cannot find it in the playlist ? I can only see M4A in the playlist...does Dapper not work with AIFF?
2. It seems the newest version is v2.7? how can I get it or I need to wait App Store rlsing ?

thank you for the replying

Hey Jeremy - I have external playlists working with a Cowon Plenue D.
Hard work but got there in the end - if you are still keen to add Cowon support, let me know and I can document my set up and share a sample playlist.

See next post :)

I used MusicBee to handle the export to the Cowon Plenue D and the creation of the suitably formatted playlist files.

The working playlist format looks like this:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:244,Car Seat Headrest - Fill in the Blanks
\Playlists\_ Car Seat Headrest\001-Car Seat Headrest-Fill in the Blanks.m4a
#EXTINF:465,Car Seat Headrest - Vincent
\Playlists\_ Car Seat Headrest\002-Car Seat Headrest-Vincent.m4a
#EXTINF:303,Car Seat Headrest - Destroyed by Hippie Powers
\Playlists\_ Car Seat Headrest\003-Car Seat Headrest-Destroyed by Hippie Powers.m4a
#EXTINF:337,Car Seat Headrest - (Joe Gets Kicked Out of School for Using) Drugs With Friends (But Says This Isn't a Problem)
\Playlists\_ Car Seat Headrest\004-Car Seat Headrest-(Joe Gets Kicked Out of School for Using) Drugs With Friends (But Says This Isn't a Problem).m4a
#EXTINF:230,Car Seat Headrest - Just What I Needed / Not Just What I Needed
\Playlists\_ Car Seat Headrest\005-Car Seat Headrest-Just What I Needed   Not Just What I Needed.m4a

Would be great to see Dapper output Cowon compatible playlists

I have created a definition, (Utils tab, download DAP definitions from www.map-pin.com) but...
Can you successfully create a playlist in a playlist folder that references music outside that folder (this is how I have it set up now - please try it)
How do playlists work if you try reference a file on the card while the playlist file itself is internal, as an example?

For the definitions in Dapper you may want the slider all the way to the right so everything is on the card.

I have this working for my Plenue D now and have submitted my config to you via the app.

There were a few more changes required, specifically, removing the entries from Card 1 and 2, changing the Separator from a forward to backward slash and setting the End of line to Windows-style CR+NL:

This also works using your standard folder structure (all playlists in card root, all music in /Music folder)!

Just one remaining issue - the final line of the playlist also needs a CR+NL otherwise the Plenue ignores the last track...

Ok, I have removed the card entries, set the separator to ] and made it CR+NL

Can you load definitions, select the Plenue D and let me know?

Thanks - the new definition works well.

Just the issue with the last line of the playlist remaining - needs a trailing CR+NL for the last song to be picked up by the Plenue D.

Great response btw - if only all of my software woes could be fixed so quickly

That will require a new build in the App Store. I'll work on it. Should be a week or so. In the meantime, any other Plenue folks want to see if the Plenue 1 and friends also now support playlists?

Also, if you would all kindly remember when it updates that all the reviews and ratings go away, so I very much appreciate you going back in and resubmitting if you still feel the warm and fuzzies. (You can tell this is the case whenever the little heart icon shows up in Dapper )
