Cowon Plenue D

I've spent the last 3 weeks updating all my music catalog with MP3Tag, I finally switched on the PD yesterday and all my ALAC files don't seem to have a cover and some are coming up with unknown. I'm devastated  .

I've decided to add audiobooks to the PD and music to the sdcard and i'll just navigate the sd card like I did the J3. I actually find it easier to navigate that way.

I'm very impressed with the PD, it seems to me like the perfect mix of the M2 and J3. I don't think there is a massive difference (sound wise) between the M2 and P2. But it's hard to tell as I've upgraded my headphones.

What jeteffect settings are everyone using? I've been playing around with the settings although I haven't got a clue what I'm doing.

I've been using these 2 since the J3

EQ: 7,-1,5,8,9
80Hz 220Hz 1.4kHz 3.0khz 11.7khz

Wide,Normal,Narrow, Normal,Wide

BBE+:

BBE: 10

Mach3Bass: 6

3D Surround: 3
MP Enhance: On

Reverb: Off

and

EQ: 7,-1,5,6,7
80Hz 220Hz 1.4kHz 3.0khz 11.7khz

Wide,Normal,Narrow, Normal,Wide

BBE+:

BBE: 10

Mach3Bass: 8

3D Surround: 2
MP Enhance: On

Reverb: Off

Okay. So I have my settings for just all around good use for almost all my music genres.. And then there is my Basshead variant.. The first is my primary sound that I use for all around music use.

The next is my Bass version, as you can see from the volume level, you will need to turn the volume up, but for me personally, I have to have those Sub-Bass frequencies shine through on certain albums. Artists such as Born of Osiris, or Breakdown of Sanity, Volumes require the Deep bass for their heavy use of Bass drops. Hopefully you all find these useful if anything to give you all different ways of using the custom presets.

I posted thesea while back.. Perhaps it'll help you..

Cheers, I'll give them a blast.

I got my first one from the anythingbutipod forums (MDWright1032 EQ) and it has been brilliant but is treble heavy and struggles with basser music.

Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the Plenue D against the LG V10 in terms of quality, sound signature and output power? I'm considering something a little more palm-friendly with some physical buttons for certain circumstances.

I have no idea about the LG but for me the PD is perfect for my palm, plus has physical buttons. I do have tiny girls hands though.

There is an LG V10 thread that you may have better luck in.

anyone else frequently getting "file not found" when switching tracks?

only way I seem to avoid it completely is fully pause or stop music before I pick a new song.

Things to try: Did you delete anything off recently, if yes update the library in the tools option. If you didn't delete anything update the library anyways. Have you tried to restart the unit? Are you using the latest update?

I've looked through all my music collection on the PD and all the FLAC and MP3 tags are all fine. The only problem is with m4a's (ALAC), weirdly the AAC files are all fine.

Another thing is most of my covers are embedded with PNG covers and the PD doesn't recognise them, I've changed a few to jpegs and then, the PD recognises them. Looks like I'm going to have to spend another 3 weeks sorting my music collection out again.

today I try ZX100 & AK JR, listen about 1 hour...

iem : UE18 pro
file source: AIFF (CD convert to AIFF)

SQ:
Plenue D >/= ZX100 > AK JR

ZX100 is a good DAP, but this price range you have many DAP to choose
AK JR is overpriced, and most annoying is interface touch delay and extremely lag, when you insert sd card and turn on, it start to scan your card but take very very very long time. ( I think CPU speed is very slow, that's why always lag, playing DSD is under control)
