FiiO has entered the earphone market with its first IEMs the EX1; to let more FiiO users experience the ideal combination of FiiO earphones with other FiiO products, all existing FiiO customers (excluding cable and accessory purchases) may buy the EX1 at 30% discount (i.e. 69.99USD, incl. shipping) for a limited time only, while stocks last.

Activity details:

1. Pre-order period: 6-15 September 2015
2. Pre-order method
A. Click this link to pm “FiiO” with the 14-digital product serial number or 20-digit authenticity code (shown on a sticker on FiiO product packaging) together with a photo showing said number or code. After we have authenticated the code, you will receive a discount code for the EX1 on the Aliexpress FiiO store. Note: cable and accessory purchases do not qualify for this offer.
B. If you do not have either of the above codes, you may pm “FiiO” with any other proof of purchase of FiiO products (e.g. photos of receipts, screenshots of e-tailer purchase receipts). If we can authenticate such proof of purchase, you will also receive a discount code for the EX1 on the Aliexpress FiiO store.
3. Order period: 16-18 September 2015
4. Purchase link: to be posted later (the EX1 will be listed as 99.99USD, which will be adjusted toe 69.99USD after you place your order and provide the discount code. )
5. Notes:
A. Please don’t pay as soon as you place your order, you don’t have to pay until the price is revised to 69.99 USD.

Note: the code is to be filled in at "Leave a message for this seller" and NOT "Enter coupon code".

Step 3

Wait for 10 minutes for our staff to review your order and adjust the sale price, then click the refresh button (that point 1 above points to) to view the updated price of 69.99USD including shipping. Do NOT click "Pay Now" until the correct price is shown.

If the refresh button does not show the discounted price. Our staff may be busy working on other issues and may not have updated your order yet. You may come back to www.aliexpress.com at anytime and click "My AliExpress"->My Orders to show a list of orders you've placed at AliExpress (including the EX1) with the updated price.

This is a real bargain.

After reading Brooko's review, and considering my past experience with Fiio, I must say, this is quite the thing going on for Fiio. I am very interested in hearing the EX1.
 
The great number of tips included and the fact that it si vented should provide a good listening experience. 

I just cannot add picture to my message to FiiO, what to do? It says "Your account does not have the required permissions to access this page." are some people excluded from the offer? FiiO says it is for all FiiO users. Please clarify.

Head-fi wouldn't let a new user register and then post several pm's immediately in a day. There might be some additional restrictions regarding picture attachments too. You might have better luck applying through our Facebook :

Yeah I saw it too when they put on sale....so its mere $10 extra for non-X3 owners, not a big deal for them.so good.

Our, er, "Manufacturer's Retail Price" of 99.99USD is indeed higher than the, er, "Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price" in the US, which is 90USD and is not strictly enforced either. On the other hand, they sell for closer to 99.99 in other places. If you find yourself to be in one of those places where the EX1 is more expensive or just plain not available locally, our deal here should be a good one. Note however that we will be shipping them out directly from China, so if import duties tend to get levied on an item like this, you would have to take that into account.

Nah, I for one/everyone knows FiiO's AE store prices on FiiO products is very HIGHLY inflated than dealer stores (online) - from the same place (AE) where everything is available at reasonably or surprisingly discounted price.

Good that you know our usual prices on AliExpress are inflated compared to your local dealers, that means you won't be buying direct from us by mistake.

Our sales model depends on a close relationship with local retailers who can provide localized service to customers, which is why our default AliExpress prices for items, ex shipping, are set higher than what you can get the same items for locally--to avoid alienating local retailers.

In case you haven't noticed, buying from our AliExpress store usually only makes sense if
1. you're buying spare parts or items not otherwise available from your local dealer network, or
2. your country is out of our dealer network entirely.

These are valid use cases that we established our webstore for.



A screen like this, is the honest best we can do to make the situation clear to customers-that-may-be that they should look elsewhere unless there's a special promotion going on like there will be for the EX1.

Since we arrange warranty returns to be picked up by our regional distributors, an international e-tailer like Penon is an embarrassing case for us, since, say you're in the US, our US distributor won't be willing to pick up a FiiO requiring service if you bought it from Penon.

You're still welcome to buy it from, say, Amazon, where it's going for 89.99, or indeed from Penon, provided you know the caveat. (admittedly IEMs don't tend to break that often) Penon appears to handle warranty if you send the product back to them (with numerous caveats), which is commendable of them, but not really any better than sending the product directly to us in China...
