You can read more here but be warned it has to be tuned wisely as excess can have a detrimental effect.

i opened all of the holes on my MS1. Would NEVER mod a $200+ headphone tho...

I would NEVER vent all the holes in ANY model!

Oh, I got the sr325 for very cheap.

BTW, sorry guys if I go off topic, I keep thinking I'm in the Grado Fanclub thread!

back to the GH1!

I did try on a pair of the Grado metal gimbals from an Rs1, but since the cups are so short, you can't really tell they're there against the black cushions.

also, I think they would've looked really nice with buttons. You know, these being Grado Heritage and all... (I know, I know, it would've affected the sound, just sayin' they'd look nice.)

What gives?  Did I piss you off?  I was just saying that I'm too big of a cheapo puss to mod an expensive headphone...

haha, sorry brother. No offense taken, I thought I was being funny. :D

I'll leave the jokes to @kayandjohn and @stacker45, they're much better at it! :D

So, couldn't take the L-Cush for very long so put the G-Cush on and really liking these. The highs are more present but are not tizzy like the 325s and the bass is good and crisp. Overall the presentation is more precise? defined? (choose a word) than the PS500. IMO and YMMV

Worms, Worms, Worms!, you even made proper use of the smileys, so don't be too hard you yourself, I mean, how could you have known that it's Harry's ''time of the month''
biggrin.gif

And Harry, before you bite my head off, I have one word for you buddy, ''Midol''.

Oh! and worms, I can't speak for John, but I promise not to get upset if you ever decide to practice your humour on me.

How can he be so sure that he won't get upset, may you understandably be asking yourself !

Because I got ''Midol''.

Drum roll please!, here are my new/old, repurposed Scott towel rack, and wooden box, rebadged and now dedicated to my ''Grado GH-1 heritage'' headphones. Sorry for the poor quality pictrues.

Beautiful design, beautiful execution. Thanks for posting the photos!

However, just use them for GH-1s. Do not, EVER, hang your Bushmills on one side and your PS1000s on the other. They WILL tip over, and despite what you would expect, it will be your PS1000s that land on your Bushmills, not the other way around!

Oh, and today I gifted my GH-1s with their very own pair of Grado G Cush. Now up to $50. But they deserve it! No more borrowing from PS1000 or GS1000e.

Grado and their Brooklyn maple tree was inspired, but the stacker heritage headphone stand is even beyond it.
He walked to the fridge to get the makings of what would become a balogna sandwich when he noticed the paper towel holder was empty. The audio muses whispered in his ear and thus, the stacker heritage series headphone stand was born; made of real repurposed mystery-wood from aisle 9 of a Montreal walmart, located next to the bounty quicker picker upper.

Looks really great. Makes me wish I had a skill beyond running my mouth, but even my Lego creations as a kid were awful, though I could build a mean non-functional/moving mono-colored Rubics cube.

  Cool.
I was sick of repeating it myself.

Keep us posted when you get them.

Okay, huge cushions just arrived and fitted - my wife says I look like a cyberman (Dr Who reference) - I don't know if its placebo effect (they're expensive I WANT the things to work) but immediate sense of larger soundstage and more airiness...and as added bonus I had to take GH1s off to actually hear the wisecracks about cybermen...you could be onto something here @joseph69
beerchug.gif
- actually (ten minutes in) make that considerably larger soundstage and better separation...

Why weren't these things fitted as standard??

I don't take credit for trying the Grad0(G) cushions (sorry for saying it again) someone else had recommended trying them, but I can't remember who it was, and they haven/t come forward…I passed it along from there.

No placebo effect, it is what you are hearing.
