Just got my production unit in today. The beta units' headband was too long, but this one is too short. With the beta I had the band on the next to bottom notch. With this one,
it's all the way to the top, and it's still tight. How do ya'll find the fit?
.......................................Hopefully the squeeze will relax a bit, and my right ear still touches the mesh driver cover. Crimeny!

Possibly worth a try: Shoe sssstttttttttrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeetttttttttttttcccccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
This particular brand comes in the form of an odorless solution that can be applied directly to the shoes, allowed to soak in and then stretched--essentially irreversibly if I recall correctly.  I used it with my shoes when they had to be stretched to fit orthotics inside of them.  This is assuming the band for the HE1000 is leather, which I think it is.

BE CAREFUL: The stuff works, and that band is fairly thin, unlike shoe leather.

It may be a stretch, but off the top of my head, that's my best solution; it's fitting that I'd bend your ear with this idea on this forum.

p.s. Did you know that "funch" is a Sniglet?  I have a hunch that you already know the definition, which I (already knew but also) found on this archival thread from a poker forum:

This one sounds a bit better than I remember the beta sounding. Hopefully the squeeze will relax a bit, and my right ear still touches the mesh driver cover. Crimeny!

Bummer I just sent back my beta set, I hope my production unit fits nicely.

If anybody is looking for a great Audio Dealer, I definitely recommend TTVJ! In a fit of audiophile nervousa I wanted to be able to compare the HEKs to the HD800s in my system. Todd will be sending me his personal pair of HD800s so I will be able to make that comparison prior to making a purchase. I spent quite a bit of time with the Ethers at the last Meet in Nashville, and the last two Meets with the LCD-3s, neither of which compete with the HEK (though for the price the Ether does very well), IMO.

On another note, thanks Doc Jazz for triggering me to cue up Sonny Rollins, "Way Out West", absolutely beautiful on the HEKs!

You too...you picked the album, I picked the track. Great to be reminded of classics I haven't spun in a while.
Cheers.
