Finding a DAC for the Cavalli Liquid Carbon. Only Four Months to Go.

It was a quick and dirty setup. My Emotiva DAC has vents on top and my xlr ' s are 9 inches. The two units are sitting next to each other at a 45 degree angle. And Great Caesars Ghost! That's the secret to the sound. The two units are spread out so funny I'm getting a bigger soundstage.

I see..thanks for the reply..I pulled out my DC-1 out of my speaker system and brought it to the office..waiting for the LC to arrive..I will make some short balanced cables to stack them neatly

Well I've been a boasting and a posting in the other LC threads as mine arrived today. I just want to say the Emotiva Stealth Dac 1 sounds magnificent with the LC. I set it up with the balanced outputs.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the LC from Master-11 in comparison to the M11's amp section. Still trying to nail down my work setup.

I have tried the Emotiva in my hvdv800 replacing it's built in dac and the Emotiva came out on top. I also bypassed the dac in master 11 with the Emotiva and like master 11's dac more. I dunno. Perhaps the Emotiva has a hyped up sound and it's not the amp. I mean this setup sounds Exciting. I have not gotten to the point where it has 'tired me' but I can see where it could. I will try the m11 dac into the amp and report back. But you know, it's never going to be used that way in real life. I got the Emotive for the balanced outs and the LC manual says the very best way to use the amp is balanced from stem to stern. I finally thought 'cut the crap' and put on Live at Leeds. I listened to both the LC and M11. Master 11 wins at all the older rock big guitar blues rock stuff. I still have a big vinyl collection. The LC sounds like a dynamic spacious Modern amp. The Master 11 sounds like Vinyl. And you kidding me? A work setup. Get the LC and the Emotiva or one of the ifi thingy's.

I have the Stealth DC-1 also, but I bought 18" XLR cables so they can sit side-by-side.  My LC arrives tomorrow.

My current work setup is Emotiva Big Ego -> iFi iCAN Micro.

It's actually a solid setup, but now that I've heard my JVC HA-DX2000 from the Master-11, I I'm looking toward something like the Soekris dac1101 + Cavalli Liquid Carbon.

If you haven't already done so I would like your impression of the Emotiva / LC combo. Perhaps post in the Impression thread. Thank you.

Having been directed here from the LC thread, and reading through a fair chunk of the 95 pages, I've decided to give the world another Stealth DC1 / LC combo.

To my mind it seemed to have the most complimentary price/performance level with the LC.

The fact that international shipping from Amazon was one third of the cost direct from Emotiva made up my mind. With having to pay import taxes on the cost of shipping as well as the DAC, that helps a bit.

I'm currently driving my LC with a Schiit Modi 2U, but my DC-1 will be here Wednesday.

I wonder if I will be able to hear any difference using a balanced input vs the Modi's OE??

Not expecting much improvement, but perhaps I'll be surprised.

I have tried the LC with three Dac's. The balanced Emotiva and single ended ifi-idsd and Bifrost uber. All three sound good but...The Bifrost comes off as bright with a smaller soundstage and nice bass. The ifi-idsd has a smaller soundstage, plenty of Bass and sounds nice. I like the ifi-idsd with my hd800's plugged in direct. But, the Emotiva sounds bigger, has a huge soundstage big bass, microdetails. Right now the only thing I like with the Bifrost is pairing it with my Lyr2 and lcd2f's. I'll probably turn the Bifrost into a bimby.

I really, really can't wait to try the LC with my Benchmark DAC-1.  I mean- really!

I believe this DAC has been mentioned in this thread before so I thought maybe I'll be able to find solution amongst you that may, in an off chance, own the same DAC.

I need help with finding the drivers for Gustard DAC-X12 because the CD that it came with was damaged, plus, I can't find a suitable Xmos driver for this dac online. Gustard doesn't seem to have a website at all and I don't know if the Xmox drivers I've been trying out are compatible, and, or using the DAC to it's fullest potential. I've already contacted Massdrop for support but I may not get a response from them for weeks to come it seems.

Here's how you can help me, if you too have a Gustard DAC-X12, would you be so kind as to rip the mini CD into an .ISO format and share the file to me? Otherwise, show me a link to the proper driver for this DAC.

Please and thank you.

If it was purchased through Massdrop, I bet they would be the best first contact.  Gustard is one of those Chinese companies that do not really have English customer support....
