I read earlier that music has to be in a music folder and not directly in the root

edit : i just saw a 'music' folder in the sd card

i put all music there and BINGO

The ie800 and eu ZX2 is moderately loud at best at 100%,assuming the recording is mastered at sufficient volume.I've said it before but some people like to play dumb for reasons of their own.The point here is to avert people who don't know about the pathetically insufficient volume output of eu ZX2 with one of the most known universals.I already had 2 people pm me about that so i told them to look elsewhere since one had already the dap and the other the iem.Everything else is misinformation i am sorry to say.

I have to assume the issue is with the EU version since I tried the asian and own the US versions and they would blow my IE800 out of my ears with anything close to 100%.  It is disappointing that the EU feels the need to manage everyone's sound intake.

all you ZX2 veterans , help out a newbie owner here

i installed my SAMSUNG SD CARD and i transferred some files

after removing from my laptop and updating the database , the zx2 does not 'see' the sd card ,only sees the music folders in the zx2

why is this happening ? should i do something (refresh card) in settings ?

thanx for the upcoming help and suggestions :D

Make sure your external SD card has a folder of name "music" and then add all your music to that folder..

Make sure the image size is smaller than 1000x1000 pixels.ni generally have all my album art 500x500 pixels

I bought mine in Australia last April and since then it's paired to Sennheiser IE800 IEM without any volume issue.....I guess because  it was not for the european market, thus no trace of that stupid volume cap!
I'm very satisfied  for the SQ of this combo and I can confirm it's improving daily , now I'm above 80h  mark around.

with the K3003 i am around the 70-75% volume level , with my EU zx2

is anyone using K3003 with a Japan version of zx2 and if so , which kind of level does his volume is ?

btw , i decided to try my arrow 4G amp (a neutral amp) with the ZX2 , what effect does the use of the amp have on the ZX2 sound - what are your findings ?

has anyone paired the EU ZX2 with jha angie / noble savant ?

is the vol cap a problem with these 2 iems ?

Listening to the Savant now and it sounds great. It's also the only IEM I've used with the ZX2 that requires me to go past half way on the volume display. That surprised me because the N6 is one of the most sensitive IEMs I've had.

Ive got two Linum Bax cables, one Bax T2 that doesn't tangle and recoils itself beautifully, and the other is a 2 pin cable and i may as well tie a thousand knots in it, tangles like thats its sole purpose in life, and doesn't recoil itself at all. Both are new.

2 days in with my ZX2 , i think my dx90 will be hitting the FS threads
tongue.gif

i also think that it is still in the burn-in period (although 4 months old when i bought it) as the sound seems to be constantly improving

only glitch so far is that i can't seem to make my artwork (cover) appear in the music screen , but i guess i can live with just the great sound quality
gs1000.gif

i also tried my arrow 4G amp, but i think it collapses the vast ZX2 soundstage and also diminishes the unique signature of the ZX2 (i may be mistaken here though , sotake this with a grain of salt)

only problem i see , i will need (as a 'spoil yourself' gesture) to save some money and buy another TOTL iem to copliment my K3003

i am eyeing JHA angie and Rhapsodio Solar , but these are still just preliminary thoughts as i am 1000$ away from both iems

nice job , SONY - you are finally back among the top dogs
beerchug.gif

ps : regarding the battery , what is the best way in keeping the battery at a better condition ? is there a recommended charge cycle - ie let it fall to say 20% and then charge it all the way back to 100% ?

or simply charge it whenever you feel like cause it makes no difference ?

Sotos,

use this freeware-sw http://www.mp3tag.de for tagging, but use only 500x500 cover-art.

cheers,

I will just put this here since ZX2 also has lithium-ion battery
http://www.head-fi.org/t/740557/cayin-n6-dap-dual-pcm1792-btl-amplication-circuit-24-192-dsd128-sacd-iso/1470

From Andykong:

Last but not least, you should avoid completely discharging a Lithium battery. Unlike NiCad batteries, lithium-ion batteries do not have a charge memory. That means deep-discharge cycles are not required. In fact, it's better for the battery to use partial-discharge cycles and avoid over-charge. I'll avoid the use the N6 beyond the last 20%, and will stop the charging at around 90%, and after something like 10 charging cycle, I'll do a deep drain to the last 2% or even till the N6 die off, and then charge it up to 99% again. I was told this will extend the lifetime of the Lithium battery significantly, fortunately my N6 battery still offer 6-7 hours of continuous play after 8 months of heavy duty usage, maybe this method is really working well
