robert , thank you once more

i assume it works with FLAC files , right ( i am completely newbie when it comes to files tagging so excuse my ignorance)

Cheers

Yes, it supports:

  1. Advanced Audio Coding (aac)
  2. Direct Stream Digital Audio (dsf)
  3. Free Lossless Audio Codec (flac)
  4. Monkey's Audio (ape)
  5. Mpeg Layer 3 (mp3)
  6. MPEG-4 (mp4 / m4a / m4b / iTunes kompatibel)
  7. Musepack (mpc)
  8. Ogg Vorbis (ogg)
  9. IETF Opus (opus)
  10. OptimFROG (ofr / ofs)
  11. Speex (spx)
  12. Tom's Audio Kompressor (tak)
  13. True Audio (tta)
  14. Windows Media Audio (wma)
  15. WavPack (wv)

but i have to correct myself, use no bigger than 500x500 cover-art, below this size it´s no problem.

btw: my new dap (
wink.gif
) had burn-in too, omg, what difference to the first hrs, it´s open and very clear now and now there is imo a huge difference to the zx2.

I will just put this here since ZX2 also has lithium-ion battery
http://www.head-fi.org/t/740557/cayin-n6-dap-dual-pcm1792-btl-amplication-circuit-24-192-dsd128-sacd-iso/1470

From Andykong:

Last but not least, you should avoid completely discharging a Lithium battery. Unlike NiCad batteries, lithium-ion batteries do not have a charge memory. That means deep-discharge cycles are not required. In fact, it's better for the battery to use partial-discharge cycles and avoid over-charge. I'll avoid the use the N6 beyond the last 20%, and will stop the charging at around 90%, and after something like 10 charging cycle, I'll do a deep drain to the last 2% or even till the N6 die off, and then charge it up to 99% again. I was told this will extend the lifetime of the Lithium battery significantly, fortunately my N6 battery still offer 6-7 hours of continuous play after 8 months of heavy duty usage, maybe this method is really working well

looking for related articles , i came across this article where in the comments someone states that

Charging to 100% and discharging to 1% is stressful to the battery, and will shorten the overall life of the battery, but it will (obviously) give the longest time before recharging is necessary.  If you can, I would charge from 80%-20% to prolong the overall life of the battery.  Even reducing the span to 90%-10% would help. Most people care more about how long their phone run between recharging since they change phones (or batteries) once performance drops.

so i guess an 80-->20-->80 charge cycle would be fine

Doesn't the ZX2 have 500 charges total? If you do the 80-20 is there a chance to exceed the 500 charges or does that mean that charging/discharging 100%-1% you will have less than 500 charges because you run the risk of killing the battery prematurely?Anyway i think i will go with Andykong here.

a full recharge every 30 partial recharges is suggested

3: Allow partial discharges and avoid full ones (usually)

Unlike NiCad batteries, lithium-ion batteries do not have a charge memory. That means deep-discharge cycles are not required. In fact, it's better for the battery to use partial-discharge cycles.
There is one exception. Battery experts suggest that after 30 charges, you should allow lithium-ion batteries to almost completely discharge. Continuous partial discharges create a condition called digital memory, decreasing the accuracy of the device's power gauge. So let the battery discharge to the cut-off point and then recharge. The power gauge will be recalibrated.

Using JH13 on an EU unit I'm on between 1/3 and 1/2 on the volume depending on the recording. Slightly more on Ultrasone Signature Pro. Have not tried the HE-500 yet but don't expect that to be useable.

And gapless seems to be perfect

The Jh13 are sensitive then like the se846,i use them around 50-60% depending on song.Time to start the burn in and avoid listening to it between 30-70h,you might be tempted to sell it lol.

Wow. Never heard that you should perform an almost complete discharge of the Li ion battery.  My Mac never lets the battery drop bellow around 95% before recharging.

Just for the heck of it I pluged my HE-500 in to the EU ZX2. At max volume it drives them to my normal listening level. It does not drive them as well as my balanced amps do but it is perfectly enjoyable. This is roughly equal to the volume I get on DX90 on high gain and about 190 on the volume.

So how come it can't drive the ie800?

What do you think of the sound?

Talk about ignorance here

.Do you have the ie800?The ibasso at high gain at 190 vol drives se846 no problem. The ie800 needs vol 215-220.I find it funny that guys who don't have the said gear question the guys who do.
