OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

We are still working on the tuning of the PM-3, but still have a first quarter 2015 release schedule in mind. This means the PM-3 and HA-2 products should be available no later than the end of March if all goes well.
Please don't change them from the version I heard on Saturday in London. Sounded great!

I know this may be a really stupid question but I'm just being cautious. You said the PM3 will be ready in march but I'll have enough money saved to buy it in May. Am I still good?

...Why wouldn't you be good?

Are you concerned that it would be sold out or something?

Seeing that the PM3 is likely going to be the most mass produced of all the Oppo PM headphones, I don't think there is anything to worry about in terms of inventory once it gets launched. So if it does launch in March like aforementioned, you should be fine in May to buy.

buy online it's usually 2/3 the price cause you don't pay the middle man ie the store that sells them locally.

I live in LV too and I'm curious where you go to buy expensive headphones locally.  I've been buying and selling every headphone I want to demo...

I was talkin' about like random things being sold out. but about headphones I see Fry's near Town Square has decent headphones like the MDR-1A. If I ever find a headphone shop that sells stuff like the HD800 or other really expensive headphone its probably going to be in the Forum Mall but I've only been there once.

If you don't mind, could you comment on the bass response you heard?  Compared to HE-400 if you've heard it or another planar?

TIA

I work in Town Square and I've been to that Fry's.  They have some Sony's and the Monster DNA's and a bunch of low-end stuff not worth mentioning.  The Best Buy Magnolia store in the NW has some nice headphones, but it's pretty far from me in Henderson.  I don't think either of those stores will carry the Oppo.  :frowning2:

On the plus side, we got CES and we're only 4 hours drive from CanJam!  :-D  Looking forward to demoing the PM-3 there next month.

You should be fine. We usually run out of stock only because there is a lag between initial orders and when the next shipment is scheduled to arrive from our factory. Usually this does not happen at launch.

Not heard the HE-400.  The bass was present, they had a lush tonal quality.  Compared to the closed back EL8 (preproduction)  bass was far superior.  I'd need much longer with them to say anything more useful but I pre-ordered them on the back of what I did hear...

Did they ever announce the bass boost db bump on the HA-2? Is it going to be a slight increase or a serious boost?

Thanks,

Product pages for PM-3 and HA-2 are live on the AU/NZ official OppoDigital website.
(Keep in mind the pricing scheme for overseas products are different, so the pricing is for AU/NZ only.)
