If someone have any questions to FA/Kennerton team — I'll be glad to ask them

Are they planing to arrange a loaner program in Canada?

Suggestion. Enjoy that demand is greater than supply for the K. Odin.
You can also buy it (if you aren't pressed for wait the order
wink.gif
), after reading the dozens testimony of the early testers on different forums accessible through the web.
If the headphone does not please you (hypothesis highly improbable about the Odin
wink.gif
), there remains the possibility of reselling it, quickly, at a good price.
For info, about the two dozen K. Odin purchased in France in the first (50) production batch, only one Odin was resold (2000 Euros) because the owner has preferred  "in fine"  buy the Abyss for his big amp (Lau); the headphone Odin was resold in less than one hour

Thank you. I have one question.

For the owners of the 1st batch, would the 'upgrade' option to the new driver be available? It might be for a certain fee and we may or may not want to do the upgrade, but at least we know if we have options.

Hi.

Interesting question for all the first owners of Odin (of the first batch) (ie: I'm concerned, as you
wink.gif
).

But I'm not sure that the sound quality of the second batch will be significantly better than the first batch (except for improved reliability).
If, unfortunately, a driver of your (or mine) K. Odin (of the first Batch) should fail, your headphone is guarantee (3 years) and would be automatically replaced (under warranty) with a new driver (more reliable).

In my view, to further enhance your system, you should take the future option proposed by Kennerton (upgrade) of a better cable in Litz wire (optimized for K. Odin), high quality (Nb: with my cable Litz wire , custom by P. Paya (my dealer), the improvement of sound is not imaginary: the sound is "cleaner" on the bass, globaly more natural, with more refined treble, and also more sweet).

Another improvement will come from your amplifier; Unfortunately, the price may be accordingly with a "ultimate" amplifier (as the Viva amp 845 or 2A3) ; without going that far, an recognized hybrid amplifier seem to be well suitable for the Odin.

Finally, a good dac must also be considered with Odin (ie; all prices are possible, according to your means); for example, the dacs TotalDac are among the best, but they are not given.

PS: do you have any news to give us about your new amplifier Pathos Aurium; how he behaves with your Odin?

Fair point. Entirely forgot about the warrantee. Also, while I don't think there would be dramatic changes/improvements, it'd still be nice to know if we have options at all.

I'm looking for cable options as well. Currently I'm using a Brimar cable, which sounds nice enough. I will keep my option open here. Any particular recommendation?

For the amp, well, Viva 845 is hopelessly beyond my budget. I'm quite satisfy with HP-A8 as a DAC and Pathos Aurium, Little Dot MK IV SE as amps.

I heard this amp with the Odin once at a friend's place (he owns the amp, I own the Odin). It was nice enough for me to add it to a 'to buy' list. After a while (also because of this thread), I decided to pull the trigger.

So far so good, the Pathos has been a good companion to both the Odin and HP-A8. Together they sound pretty delicate and detailed, while maintaining warmth, sweet, and impactful bass. So far so good.

Thank you for your first assessments of the Pathos Aurium amp
smily_headphones1.gif
.

Indeed, this hybrid amplifier is apparently very good, very well built and powerful enough to drive effectively (and with great synergy?) the K. Odin (and the LCDX).

(Nb: according Beolab, it would be an amp that is both powerful and detailed with respectively 1.4 Watt on 35 Ohm (= impedance of Odin with a sensitivity of 104 dB / 1mW) and 2.2 Watt on 22 Ohm (= impedance of LCD-X with a sensitivity of 103 dB / 1mW); but it seems to be insufficiently powerful to drive the Abyss with only 1.1 Watt on 46 Ohm (= impedance of the Abyss with a (small) sensitivity of 85 dB / 1mW, thus requiring, in theory, an amplifier 100 times more powerful than that required for the Odin).

You can read also interesting comments on some amplifiers wrote by Beolab, here: http://www.head-fi.org/u/423849/beolab

I had some experience with a range of russian cable artisan Sergst, short results with overall resulting subjective balance in a spreadsheet below. Currently I use stock for metal and hard rock, WE mono-wire 4x0.6+4x0.5 calibers - for jazz, more soft music (i.e. indy rock), music with natural instruments. I'll translate tasting notes on cables if there is any interest in this )

I do not understand what the letters mean.

Sorry, I use the same legend as in my headphones for metal thread (http://www.head-fi.org/t/715478/headphones-for-metal-music-ultimate-solution)
H - higher tha average
L - lower than average
A - average (~neutral)

  Hi,

Good read below for Pathos fans:
https://audiobacon.net/2015/12/13/comparison-abyss-ab-1266-vs-audeze-lcd-3f/

@Eric65, there are some interesting comments for you about LCD-3 cans.

Thanks Cladane for this review, very interesting to read.

For jazz, pop music and small ensembles, the Odin will probably still best enjoyed (with this kind of hybrid amplifier), especially for the great quality of the timbre, very natural.

PS: I love very much my LCD3F (both, with the RP8K-VT and the Luminare amp), but I prefer, in fine, my Odin with the RP8K-VT amp, more balanced in tone (less dark), more dynamic, precise and natural.

Kennerton Odin: a rarity?

Waiting for the next batch.

So far, 50 K. Odin (1st batch) were produced and distributed very quickly in the world, including 35 in France (source : http://tellementnomade.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=389492#p389492), at least 1 in Thailand, probably 1 in Australia; a few in Germany, and a few in Russia. How many in the USA?
