Not too sure I understand what a remote cable is?

Must be the latest hit in cableland...made out of invisible unicorn wire.
Joking aside he's prolly talking about those cables with volume control and a few buttons for next/pause/etc.. which of course alter the sound cause that is what super cheap volume controls do. Oh well, just another soul lost in cable wonderland

I think he's talking about the ones with control buttons, mic, etc.

Yes. Here is an example. The extra electronics interfere with the audio signal.

Those who always claim to hear differences in cables never do so in a controlled environment, it's all anecdotal. And cable debating is pointless. If it works for you, cool - if not, well, you're saving some monies.

There is no "conflicted information" on cables just a lot of conflicted people: conflicts of interests, conflicts of neurons, etc... The science and the tests are clear on cables and there is no "jury out there" debating cables. Just a bunch of slick cable salesmen and another bunch of poor souls who think their ears are better than an osciloscope.

Thereby goes another member of the thought police!!

You have one good point there. It is much CHEAPER to believe that cables don't make a difference :)

Yeah, but that's no worse than the people that insist that cable upgrades always make a big difference, though. One could call that the "lack of thought" or "extreme ego" membership group because the person has either

(a) Chosen to ignore the scientific evidence that bias and audio memory unreliability would have a significant impact on the relative difference we can perceive. Psychologists have known for decades that human audio and visual perception is flawed. These are not scientific theories that are debated, but instead are accepted.

OR

(b) Believes they are above and beyond that psychological perception fallacy that we all suffer from. I guess they must be Nietzsche’s Ubermensch. LOL

This is a hobby about enjoyment. Do what makes you happy. We don't participate in this hobby to feel guilty, be told we're wrong for what we are enjoyed or have our flaws, which are different from person to person pointed out.

Credit to everyone that this thread lasted 4 pages without turning sour.

Very true:
I know I don't participate in this hobby to feel guilty!

One of the first and foremost qualities of police is that they care. I don't.
And anyone who kept at least one open ear during school, cares about such cable *oppinions* just as much as the law of gravity cares about the catolic church's oppinion on the universe.

And generally, as long as it is your money and your fun, noone cares and noone has the right to comment.
You like fancy cables.... go for it and be happy.
You wanna wear $10K cables with diamonds as a status symbol... go for it and be happy.
Garden-hose speaker cables improve your orgasms... go for it and be happy.

Just don't start telling everyone that your cable magically produces better sound, cause that is either stoopid or disingenuous.. if not an outright lie. If I wanna hear utterly stoopid bulls*t I can watch TV advertising. From a specialized head-fi forum, which is supposed to be ForTheUsers, I expect better. This forum is supposed to HELP new/young/unexperienced users, not waste their time & money. Pretending that expensive wire sounds better than solid OFC/OCC copper which costs less than $5 per meter doesn't "help" anyone but snake-oil vendors. It is also disrespectuful for all those scientists and engineers who dedicated their lives to the study of math, physics, wave, electromagnetic and sound theories. The people who INVENTED your headphones and BUILD them. Through hard-work, extensive testing and studying...you know, through Science!

Anyway, that's already too long and pretty much all you need to know about cables I wrote in another post, no need to repeat here.

Enjoy your cables, enjoy your music.

Seriously I could not physically care any less about your opinions on cables. They are just dogmatic and IMO wrong. I personally have no respect for people who believe what they are told to believe and don't have an open mind.

I am not the one telling people my cables produce better sound (even though they do to my ears and everyone else's who has had a listen blind or otherwise) you are the one telling people cables make no difference and if there is a difference they are imagining it or lying (yeah I have spent £100's promoting a lie!! Really

) .
I prefer people to make up their own minds just like the thousands who have bought cables and contribute to any of the cable appreciation threads on this site. You say you expect better, no you expect everyone to agree with you and lie. Sorry no chance. I say the truth based on my experience. I am not telling anyone to spend their money that's their choice.

My problem is people like you, and the rest of the thought police, who criticize people for having an opinion that you don't agree with, please get over yourself.
This site is full of opinions we can't all bow down to your dogmatic views.
IMO based on my own experiences, and many many many many etc etc other peoples, cables do make a difference. So please stop telling people what they should be hearing, because I love what I am hearing. Good day.

You do realize your arguing with somebody who has 6 posts, 4 of which are in this thread.  Just saying...

Half an open ear during school would have also told you that Truth and Experience are very different concepts. Truth is even sometimes defined as that which does *not* depend on experience..not yours, not mine, not anyone's. It just is like that no matter what you do or think or imagine. Like gravity. Your exp is relevant for you..and that's ok.. just try to separate it from the truth.

Anyway, this is not worth mine or anyone's time. Debating cables is like debating gravity or evolution. Some people get it, some don't.

Have fun.
